vakama They say I only think in the form of crunching numbers, in hotel rooms collecting page six lovers [/font][/size] They say the only reason man eats cows instead of horses is because long ago, back when the first cursed man put foot on earth, they picked up a rock and ran towards a cow and a horse. The cow stayed, the horse ran. So the man killed it, cooked it and ate it. Now, they lose me at the cooking part. I wouldn't try to take on a horse, well, maybe a small one, but the small ones are so scrawny, it don't look like theres much meet on its bones. Maybe if I was a Great Dane or Wolfhound MAYBE, but have you looked at those suckers. They have ROCKS for feet. And they're strong. These ones in the paddock here are obviously used to dogs, cuz they aren't even looking at me. There are three brown ones in this far paddock. Sheesh, horses aren't really a species for variety, are they?
I know this place like the back of my paw. Really, I do. I bed down in a stall in one of the smaller barns where they keep the older horses. Its quieter in there, no fiesty creatures kicking and banging. I eat rabbits, squirrels, mice, and human trash. I even killed a cat once. Sleeping in a barn, its a long way from the cozy house with the linolium floors where I was born. But then, things took a nasy turn when I killed another dog and his owner chased me down here. The fur and flesh on the left side of my face was black because of an unlucky run in with a car muffler. The muffler won, go figure.
I trot into the barn and listen. No human voices. The horses are in their normal stalls-Ginger, Fortitude, and Bellatrix. But she likes Bella, really. The older horses are actually really nice to have a conversation with, they've been everywhere and seen most everything. They, infact, are the only ones who talk to me- the younger horses are stuck up assholes. 'My; stall is nestled in between Forty and Ginger. Forty and Ginger are guess what-brown! But Bella is a deep, midnight black, graying on her face because of her age. They whicker to me as I pass, and I nod to each of them, tongue lolling.
A cool breeze blows the scent of hay and horse manure into my nostrils as I roll in the straw that lays on the bottom of the stall. Sighing, I flip over, and shake myself. Yup. Life is pretty good.

[shadow=red,left,300]what is a state of prolonged unconsciousness, including a lack of response to stimuli, from which it is impossible to rouse a person?[/shadow] [shadow=red,left,300]Your answer, sir? [/i][/shadow][/size] [shadow=red,left,400]K o m a[/shadow] Ice chipped optics watched the golden perro, who seemed perfectly at home among the caballos.. Audits always perked high upon husky looking crown, but i was no husky, no, no, no..I am a mutt..Si'..I am.. Listened and heard the nickers of the caballos, the loudest coming from the black, senorita, caballo... Oh, you must be thinking where was this husky that is not a husky at, to watch this all unfold...Well at the at the entrance of course..I felt the caballos' optics fall upon me..ah the look in them made me laugh.. so dumb..so dumb..and yet they were smart.. The black caballo had a look of fear twinged to curiosty...
I felt my ebonite lips drawing back on my snow colored mug, a sick smiling rolling over my facade..As strange azul optics fell upon the stall where the sun tinted perro was..The caballos were talking, but i did not listen, instead..I made my lips fall down to a look of pure fear, and my robin's tinted optics followed too.
Ivory mug was aloud to part, and for a momento daggers glowed in the slanting light...but it was just a moment, just a flash..Lyrics, so soft, so strange...drifted into the air..a singing like quality floating along with them.. Ahh..an angel or a demon.. "Señor, Señor...Por favor, ayúdame?" Fear clung to lyrics, and was held in azul optics.. Panic etched deeply into ever forgien word..Crying out, a whimper, making its way from her throat.. But it was acting, though one would know from the fear that was plastered across the ivory and ebonite facade...
[shadow=red,left,300]Inside the mind of the dog who is not a dog[/shadow]
Come out, come out..Darling little perro, one of the sun color.. Come out, and play, come out and dance... I need your blood, your sweet thick blood, i need it to run down my tongue, like a river cascading down a waterfall.. I need your meat, for my own greedy body..I need perro, to survive, to fuel the addiction.. Perro is a meat like no other, a meat like no other...
[shadow=red,right,300]And weakly, in the back of the cannibal's head a voice whispers[/shadow] no...no...no...you don't Koma, stop..no..... Koma its wrong.........
[shadow=red,left,300]but of course it will never win, for rusty is gone....rusty is gone.. everyone is gone.. so we leave the cannibal's skull and dance back to the present[/shadow]
Fear and sorrow danced upon her facade, looks as if she would cry..if perro's could.. she would be..Fluffy plume, as always arched over her ebonite black, but it did not wag.. and if it could it would droop.. For now their was a genuine trait of sorrow, although she looked no different...
...................... Rusty was gone, rusty.. Gawd, he was gone..where had he gone, was muerto..muerto...dear god do not let him be muerto... and suddenly, anger was filling the part of her mind that controlled her...but it did not show on her fear filled facade... ..Rusty was gone... and this perro, would pay for it.....

[/font][/size] I smelled the dog before I saw her. I was a Golden Retriever, and it was not hard to determine my breed even with my charred face. The pink of my gums shone like a beacon of light through the blackness of my flesh and fur. I winced. It always hurt there. Always. The pain would never go away. But it was alright. It kept me on my toes. But anyway, back to the scent. Immediatly I scented another dog. Then I scented it was a female. But then there was this... sickening after smell, almost like blood, but no blood I had ever smelled bef- wait... it was. It was dog blood. The memories flooded back of the hunting dog I killed while he was out on a trip with his master. Memories, memories... sighing, I shook my head. Snap out of it, Vakama, you dolt. I thought to myself. Memories are past.
But back to that scent, that dog. I could hear the frightened words of the horses. Ginger pressed her chestnut face up against the metal bars between our stalls, the whites of her eyes flaring. Vakama, Vakama! She had a thick accent, almost untelligable. Theres a strange dog out here. I wouldn't mind if we were out in the field, but there is no room for us to fight in these stalls!
Well, whaddya want me to do? I snarled in annoyance. Does it look like I have thumbs? The fear in Gingers eyes was lost on me, but I figured she was old and deserved to live out her life in peace. If she does do something.... I'll try. I finished, hoping for her to leave me in peace. But then the femmes lyrics floated to my ears, and that sickly scent of dog blood hit my nose. She had grown closer during my conversation. I eyed the door of my stall warily. Ginger was right. I was smaller, but these stalls left no room to really turn and combat in. I yawned, anyway, bored. It would help if I knew what you were saying! I called, scratching my ear, not bothering to move. She was no one special to me and therefore she didn't need my help. Selfish, I know, but that philosiphy has kept me alive through these years. Besides, you smell funny. My guts tellin' me not to go out. I murmured into the straw, too quiet for anyone but me to hear. I was lying, really. I knew the language she was speaking, Spanish, and I knew what she was saying. Better to fake than to die, yes?
