name: Arsenic Flynn
pronounciation: Are-seh-nik F-ly-n
alias: Flynn
age: 3 years
gender: Brute
breed: German shepherd
appearance:
Flynn's fur has a gorgeous colouring of black hues mixed with bands of dark tan which melt into each other beautifully. The double-layered coat starts with a tan undercoat, gradually darkening as we go up. He is the medium-haired variety of the German shepherd, meaning his fur sheds in a plush winter coat, keeping him warm in winters, and a short summer coat, keeping him cooler in the summer. The dark ebonys of his fur lighten on the underbelly in thighs, tan markings being much more apparent.
Flynn's tail is long a fluffy, insuring great balance and providing the ability to make very tight turns quickly and without falling over. The hindquarters aren't much lower than the shoulers and withers, creating a slightly curved backbone with a depression before the withers. Flynn is very flexible and this permits him to have longer strides. His deep-ish chest insures good stamina, and he doesn't have such a skinny waist seen in greyhounds. His body is lean, yet powerful, well-toned muscles somewhat visible under his medium fur.
His legs are long and narrow, ended with larger than average paws which ensure good grip and agility. His pads are thick with use, cushioning his steps. The toes each sport an incurved black claw which digs into the ground. His build is overall lithe, fast and stealthy, with narrower shoulders. While he gains a lot on speed, agility and stealth, he loses some strength, although he is still very strong. He is about 25 inches and the withers and tips the scales at around 65 pounds.
His neck is long, almost always straight. He only lowers his neck when moving at fast paces. His large, tall ears stand erect and parralel on his head, not too far apart and are constantly in movement. His domed forehead, beautiful dark amber eyes, long square-cut muzzle and distinctly masculine traits make of him a quite handsome boy, although it is tarnished slightly by a scar running from above his right eyebrow to the middle of his cheek, down his eye. It is still functional, but it offers blurred vision. Both his eyes give a sense of confidence and intelligence but let nothing else get through. Finally his ivories come together in scissor-bite with a powerful crushing bite trademark of the breed.393
personality:
Flynn is a very complicated dog. On first impressions, he is stony, cold and distant. He will not approach you, and if you do, he will be very distant, not letting you in easily, will take a long time to warm up to you, and he will not trust you. It takes efforts and time to win his trust, along with his respect. You do that though, he shall be your friend forever. Like the shine of his eyes suggest, Fly's a very intelligent dog, and he won't commit the same mistake twice. He will look at a situation under every angle before doing anything to solve it, thinking before acting.
He is very good at making quick decisions, being very cool-headed in sitations of intense stress, and is not angered easily. When he does get angry though, he is prone to loose control and do serious damage. It then takes him a long time to cool down, a period where it is by far best to leave him alone. He is serious, with a quite different sense of humour. His goal will not to make you laugh, but to give a sharp "ouch" reaction. His gives nicknames to all dogs he meets, often annoying them. On the tough exterior he wears there is a softer side, being often secretly attached to dogs, especially females.
He is particularly observant, good at decifering emotions in voices, his eyesight being poor. He has a great memory, and a fascination for the laws of Mother Nature, the phenomenons and the events of daily life. He also has a slightly philosophical way to view things. Having been used as a spy, he will not divulge his secrets of the secrets of others, making him very trustworthy with secrets. He is sharp-tongued most of the time, not being liked much, but he likes it that way. After being in packs most of his life, he now loves being the lone wolf. In fights, he uses his devilishly quick wit and agility and speed to win, making him a very good fighter.
He tends to want you to underestimate him, so he can surprise you with far greater abilities than you thought. He is also a liar and a manipulator, making you think it's your idea when it's actually his. He does get caught sometimes in lies, but not often. Relations with other dogs are often complicated due to the fact you don't really know when he is lying or not. Some liars Make big things about their lies to make them realistic, but Arsenic stays the same, lie or truth: cold.
In short, Arsenic can be as poisonous and deadly as his name suggests, but also has a softer side to him, concealed from the outside world.469
history:
Flynn has a very colourful history, most of it blood red. Arsenic was born to two German shepherds, a mother called Moonshine and a father named Hunter. When their litter was born, he was called Flynn, just Flynn. When his parents saw how small and thin he looked compared to the rest of their litter, they decided they couldn't risk feeding him and then him dying, so they discarded him in an alley like a piece of rubbish. In that particular town, a stray dog pack had been formed by two rottweilers to keep things peaceful. After a few hours, they found the poor newlyborn Flynn.
They took him in immediatly, nursing him to health. His foster mother, who had a litter of her own, was a pretty little labrador named Spark. He loved her and his newfound family immediatly. As he grew he started to be fascinated by the life around him, and often sat in front of the pack's elder, a grizzly old mutt named Shadow. Shadow talked on and on about what happened when there was an earthquake, every little bit of information he knew was drunk by little Flynn who lay there utterly concentrated on the laws of physics. He didn't understand it all, but he didn't care.
He grew to be fast and agile, healthy and intelligent. His adoptive litter mates were two females and a male, named appropriately Snow, Moon and Stark. They all lived happily. Then, a new, more powerful pack came into town. Immediatly, their thirst for power was apparent, and they began raiding their territory. Flynn fought, but he couldn't hold them off, being merely 9 months old. The pack was decimated and scattered, and Fly found himself being chased into the forest. Lost, he was taken in by a pack of wolves, grieving his lost family.
It became apparent Flynn had many advantages. That particular wolf pack was at war with another one, and they needed a spy to infiltrate the enemy. They chose him, not wanting to risk losing any of their own. Flynn excelled at tracking down the pack after a bit of practice, and he would lay in ambush and wait, grasping precious information on their intentions and whereabouts. After a few close shaves, Fly became extremely good at what he was doing, his stealthy and fast build allowing him to creep closer without being heard or detected.
One day, his pack assaulted the other, destroying it. It was in that fight Flynn's eye was injured. Since, his eyesight became blurred heavily. His other senses grew exponentially more acute, his hearing and smell especially. If he hadn't learned to fight like the wolves did, he would have been one of the casualties. The victory opened to appetite of the wolf pack, and they wanted more territory. He continued his work as a spy despite his poor eyesight, and developped his own style of fighting. He became more and more depressed though, and finally left the pack aged two and a half.
He has been traveling since, passing from city to city, hunting as the wolves taught him, and became much less depressive. He was happy again.536
