The fields and meadows were silent if it weren't for the occasional nicker of horses and the songs of little birds. These soft sounds weren't helping to soothe down; he had woken up in a very, very bad mood. It had all started when he had slept in an old broken down house in the outskirts of town. The place had obviously been abandonned for a very long time. The door was hanging from it's hinges, a wall on the left side was reduced to ruins, the window panes that weren't broken or cracked were yellow with age and neglect.
The inside wasn't better either. It smelled strongly of mold, humidity and rotting wood, but at leats the roof was still there and protected him from the elements. He had woken up to the sound of heavy machinery approaching the lonely settlement. What a great way to start the day. Before he had had the chance to escape by the whole in the wall, the wokers had discovered him there and blocked almost all escapes, except a way too small whole in basement. As they called the pound, he dug the hole larger, so that he could get through. Angry, he had managed to escape before the pound had arrived. As he ran away, he bit two workers as they tried to catch him.
To try to cool down his anger, he decided to wander aimelessly. He didn't know why his paws had brought him here, and he didn't really care to say the truth. He slipped under a fence of horse's pasture, suddenly having a game idea. He trotted over to the onyx coloured horse and started to bark deeply at it. At first, the equine didn't really pay much attention, but when Thorn started to nibble it's pillars, it got angry: exactly what the mix wanted. It charged him, and he ran, twisting and turning, his low center of gravity helping him with balance and agility. A smirk danced on his ebony lips as he played with the horse, getting it to charge him and he dodged it.
After a few minutes, he trotted under a bit tree next to a farmhouse to escape the late morning glare of the sun. Panting slightly in the already uncomfortable heat, he watched the slow trickle of daily life for the region pass by.

Having herding in her blood, she loved to chase things. panting hard, she found the familiar wooden fence. slipping through, she went into a low crouch, invisible to the sheep in the pasture. going behind one of them, she leaped out and barked loudly, hoping they would scatter. but no, being used to this unfortunate event, they flocked together. sighing, Miami chased them around a little, until she heard something that excited her, man. there where four people, yelling and screaming at her. laughing, she ran towards them, almost letting them ketch her, but always being a step ahead. stupid people, they knew nothing! bored with her little game of tag, she slipped quitly through the fence once more. checking back to see how angry they were, as Miami thought it wa sgreat fun to piss them off, she didnt notice the other dog until she had ran straight into it. "oh! sorry didnt see ya there!" she barked and wagged her tail happily.

It was a female, a border collie, with a beautiful chocolate and grey pelt. The splotches of light brown contrasted beautifully in her silky looking coat, her hues of the same stony palette blending in nicely. She didn't seem to mind the heat much as she carried herself gracefully over the uneven terrain. She looked like she knew exactly where she wanted to be, as if she had already decided. Thorn watched, charmed, not paying attentionto anything else. His attention was singularly on this beautiful female.
She slipped through the fence in a pasture with sheep, creeping up behind them. When she pounced, they grouped together, and the expression on her face told him she wasn't expecting them to do that. A smile spread momentarily on his lips as she chased them around a bit for a few minutes, then getting bored. Thorn's mind was completely unconscious of anything else except her. His amber gaze only tore off her when the people started yelling at the fae, startling him. He realised how captivated he was by the female, a surge of incomprehension going through his mind. Why was he so intrigued by this female, incapable almost to tear his eyes off her?
His eyes rested on the female once more as he as he debated with himself. He shouldn't be so captivated by her. No it was wrong. He should be able to treat her like any other dog. Troubled, his orbs her movements as she ran close to the two-leggeds, not letting them catch her. She finally slipped through the fence again, coming nearer and nearer without looking, and he wondered if he should move. But he didn't feel like moving a muscle. so he watched as she came closer. It was only at the last second did he realise she was going to run into him. When she did, he was slightly pushed, but being the sturdy guy he was, he wasn't hurt.
She turned around and he saw she had beautiful blue eyes, troubling him even more. When she spoke, he felt like snapping back a irritated comment, but astonished himself by saying: "It's fine, it's fine."His amber gaze continued to watch her, but he concentrated on keeping his expression straight.

As soon as miami spoke, she really saw the dog she had accidently ran into for the first time. He had a strong build to him, and looked like he wasnt afraid to fight. His coat was a sleek black, with brown tips. The sun was shining just right so that it made his coat look very well kept, at least he wasnt a slob. looking around, She noticed the moon was coming up, and the sunset was beautiful. The pinks and oranges whirled around each other perfectly. tearing her gease from the scenery, she focused her cool blue eyes back on the dog. "its fine, its fine." she heard him say, and at his words, her ears perked up a little. "whats your name?" she was quite curious, as she had been lonely for some time, and missed the company of another canine.

It's beauty was the only thing stopping him from staring at this new female. She seemed to be studying him and he wondered what she thought of him. He surprised himself by hoping she thought well of him. He cast a look at his pelt, happy to see it free of dirt and mud. He got up on his feet, realising he was a few inches taller than she was.
She turned around, looking at the sunset before looking at him again. He smiled, his eyes softening as his gaze met with hers. Her curiosity seemed to be alerted, probably haven't had much company, or so he guessed. Maybe she was just curious by nature. He admired her smooth tones as she spoke, to which he replied on a charming tone. "I'm Thorn, and you are?" he said, his deep voice ringing through the air.

When there gazes met once more, his facial features changed, and he was no more of the tough dog she thought at first he was. He seemed nicer, and more inviting. That was good, as miami had begun to wonder if he had wanted her company. When he stood, He was a little bit taller, and she smiled when he said his name was Thorn. such a rough name for a nice dog. Oddly, she wanted to know everything about him, from puppy hood until she had just ran into him. "my names Miami." tilting her head to the side, curiously she asked. your name sounds mean, and yet... you dont act it. relaxed, she sat down, and curled her long tail over her front paws, almost like a cat. Awaiting his reply, she panted, as it was quite hot out still.

It was a wonderful feeling, just being in her presence, and he basked in the euphoria of his feelings. It was almost unreal. Yet, as wonderful as it was, it was very troubling and it scared him. You needed a lot to scare him, but it wasn't somebody else that produced this anxiety, it was himself. He wondered if he was insane. If he had known that the answer was so simple, so obvious, he would probably have already caught on.
Since his time in the dog fighting ring, he had blocked all feelings out of his heart to protect himself. His joyful puppy mind had become one of an aggressive and territorial adult, and he had locked his emotions in a deep corner of his heart. Yet now, it seemed they were all coming back again. His emotions stronghold had seemed to fail all because of this female. He was struggling to know if he should be angry of this or if it was actually a benediction. He didn't know, but he could work it out.
Being more sensitive like that might be a disadvantage in competition, when he needed to protect himself and his food against others. If he started to be guilty about this. . . it could make him lose his belongings. It was that part that was a disadvantage. But on the other hand, it would make him more sensitive to other's emotions, other's intentions and their reactions. In that sense, it might not be so much of a disadvantage.
When she spoke, she tilted her head to the side. Miami. . . He murmured it once under his breath to get his tongue around the word. It was a beautiful name. He smiled, his golden eyes brightening. A malicious smile came upon his features at her phrase. " Well, I was the biggest of my litter, so maybe my parents made early assumptions." he joked, cocking his head to the side and wagging his long tail as she sat with her fluffy tail around her, reminding him of a relaxed cat.
