history: miami used to be an owned dog. trained in agility and discs, she was a top notch athlete. competing at all levels, she was a beauty and a sight to be seen. at one and a half years of age, her owner fell ill and she sadly had to be sold. her owner thought she was going to a good home, but she wasnt. cooped up in a cage, while her new owner was at work, she was going crazy. being used to running two to three hours every day, she wasnt used to being kenneled up for days on end, so she turned to chewing her cage and anything she could get her teeth on, she became destructive. the owner was pretty clueless about dogs, and had no idea why she was doing this. so he called a trainer who used shock collar training. whenever she would chew he would press a button making the collar on her neck shock her. (kind of like a bark collar). when that didnt work, he thought to beat it out of her. most of the time Miami had no idea what she was getting beaten for, but took the blows anyway. traumatized, the next day when her owner went to clean her cage, she escaped and is now trying to find her way as a stray.
