NAME;; rasta PRONUNCIATION;; rah-sta ALIAS;; rastafarian, rah-rah
AGE;; two years GENDER;; xy BREED;; berger picard
APPEARANCE;; Rasta is a handsome candidate who very much resembles a mutt - however, he is pure bred. Both parents were imports from France, Picardy Shepherds. Ah, the fabulous 'Berger Picard'. Rasta is tall and lanky, topping the scales at approximately 70 pounds. He isn't a very large dog, but what he doesn't make up with in size - he makes up with in heart. He has a very distinct tear in his right ear, from the one and only fight he ever got involved in. Rasta's dew claws are removed, and as a puppy - his ears were taped in order to stay erect.
Often, at first glance - many think 'Oh, what a strange mix - what could he be? Briard? Shepherd?'. That's the beauty of it all for Rasta, he doesn't come off as a pure bred dog. If there is one thing he has learned on the streets, it's that other street-dogs don't like purebreds. They are immediately labeled as house pets and unable to survive street life.
PERSONALITY;; Rasta is a real sweetheart, though he can be an egotistical horn-dog - he means well, for the most part. Despite his often perverted antics, Rasta enjoys the company of others (male and female alike). I suppose you could consider him to be a 'social butterfly'. He generally gets along well with all, and isn't one to start a fight. However, Rasta does have a thing for the ladies. Though, he would never push a female into doing something they weren't for - he does enjoy being 'rough' so-to-speak.
Rasta is a traveler - he doesn't stay in one place too long without a good reason. Will he get the urge to settle down some day? Who knows, it's always a possibility. But, for now he likes to enjoy the sweet youth he's been given. He does have a fear of being alone, which is probably why his sexual habits have developed. He says that he doesn't want to commit to a serious relationship. However, inside he yearns for nothing more than a partner to stay with forever. In sickness and in health, and all the bullshit you could possible think of. All of that sappy crap, he really loves it - but just won't admit it.
Rasta longs for a family, one that won't run out on him. He adores nothing more than a litter of puppies to love and raise. Though, he has never sired his own litter (that he is aware of) - friends of him have had litters. He's a country boy, life in the long grasslands of a southern farm is where he feels most at home. Even the horrible winters he would be able to withstand, as long as he has a companion to sit with him by the fireplace and watch the world pass by.
HISTORY;; Rasta was born on a small southern plantation in Northern Louisiana. (You can tell by the southern twang to his deep drawl) His 'owner', a young 30 year old blonde woman with a taste for dogs, had both of his parents imported from France as puppies. Both from separate litters of course. She spent all of her time training and showing her dogs, until they became titled international champions. Then, they had their first litter. There were seven puppies, all of which were sold apart from Rasta - the pick of the litter. The owners plan was to show him as well. However, the owner was not planning on the fire that took down her house - and her life. Rasta's parents - Russell and Lillian - were also killed in the fire, trapped in the basement while Rasta could do no more than sit outside and watch the house go up in flames. He was six months old when he had no choice but to set out on his own. No idea of what was ahead of him, the loneliness he felt tore at him like a thousand daggers. As he aged, he learned how to control this loneliness by having affairs with dogs of the female persuasion. This habit continued. He travels, meeting other dogs, sleeping with other dogs, trying to fill the hole that sits gaping in his heart.
