Today had been no different, he had panted and tried his hardest to stay in the shadows but even there in the hopeful coolness the sun's heat seemed to find his muscled form to further torture him with its incessant rays. But it was now nighttime, a time when it was cool and there was no sun to stalk him wherever he went and burn him until he felt he would suddenly burst into flame and be burnt to a crisp. It was a comfortable time, relaxing and quiet.
Immolation had managed to sneak through the gate while the crowds had been leaving and he had been hiding in a corner that was hidden away from sight until he knew that every last one of the humans had gone and he was free to explore and swim. And as he emerged now from his hiding spot he allowed himself to stretch his body and yawn before walking calmly towards the inviting water of the pool. Nearing the edge he lowered his head, sniffing at the ground that was stained with human scent before reacting down over the edge to lap up some water, quenching a thirst that had been building for hours not. But he wouldn't swim yet, no, first he needed to forage and see if any humans had possibly dropped anything edible while they had been there that had gone unnoticed by the other humans that had cleaned. But Lation knew the bins were his best option and headed towards them first, easily putting his weight to use to tip one over before he started rummaging around in it, looking for something to fill his empty stomach.

[scrolly:h(355),w(219),sy]Before the sun had made it's way into the open skies, our lady had slipped into the pool perimeter, undetected and feeling like a spy. She traveled along the inside of the rod iron fence until she had completely circled it. The fae slowed half way around the second time, nearing some trash cans. She lifted her maw to the lip of the can, nostrils twitching in curiosity before she lifted onto her hind legs, placing one paw on the edge of the trash can. She dipped her head slightly, surveying the empty contents. It reeked of food, yet there was none. She huffed in defeat, then landed back on her fours and walked around the group of cans, seeing as there were two or three. In the center of the grouping, she laid down, easily hidden.
For most of the day, she laid there, listening to humans come and go, the screams and laughter of each child as they splashed around in the pool. The sounds she liked most were that of food being jostled around in her ever-filling cans. Around closing time, she started to drift off to sleep, feeling content and secure in her little hide-away. The dark proceeded, and before long she was deep in a field of dreams.
From the depths of unconsciousness, a loud clattering shoved her back from the blackness. Immediately, she snarled in frustration that she had been awoken, before realizing that one of the walls was missing, instead the can was tipped. From over the top, she could see a shadow moving into it, and that snarl stopped as curiosity consumed her. She stood up slowly, shaking off sleep quickly and leaping around the cans until she was between the pool and the shadow. She lowered her head, nostrils twitching to catch the scent to notice it was a male, a large one, too. She liked her maw, before her eyes narrowed slightly and a smile crossed her muzzle. It was entertaining, that instead of catching her meal, she caught a brute instead. "Excuse me," she played that coy lyric, watching him for a reply.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr96/Rentally_Metarded/Character%20Tables/lationmiddle.png] Nostrils took in the smells in the bins, so many different smells that nearly scent his mind swirling in attempts to try and work out all the different things as he gobbled down several bits of food he had already found, pleased with his success. Lation was so caught up in his eating that he didn't notice anything outside of the bin and when a voice broke through his attention span and entered his mind he jumped in surprise, hitting his head against the top of the bin before grumbling slightly in pain as he backed out of the bin quickly. As soon as he was out of the bin and spun around his eyes were instantly set upon a gorgeous female and Lation was taken aback for a moment that he should be confronted by someone so pretty that he was at a loss for words for a few moments, staring at her in awe. But he made himself snap out of it and think, so far she hadn't backed away because she felt intimidated by him, maybe this was his chance at having a companion to love.
"Hi.." Lation had no idea what he wanted or needed to say to make her not think he was an idiot though he felt like one for not saying more than the muttered hi as his gaze stayed resting on her. His thoughts danced around in his mind, trying to sort out how he should act and what he should say, telling him to run but arguing that he needed to stay. Because he was tired of running, Lation had run his entire life from anyone that could possibly hurt him but he was ready to face that pain, he was ready to feel pain if it meant that he could feel love. And love was all he wanted right now. He had a friendly encouraging smile resting on his face, willing her to talk to him, despite the confused thoughtful look in his eyes, he didn't want his large, threatening appearance to scare her off but he wasn't sure how to make himself appear less scary. All of this was making him think too much, but he was used to that.
