For the most part, there wasn't a cloud to interrupt the summer's evening. Every beach-goer had gone home, leaving the beach empty except for one or two abandoned cups and the occasional towel. The air was tinted with the smell of a coming storm, though the cloud source was no where to be seen.
Sitting in the small waves was our Sky, blue tabiries watching the orange sun sink lower and lower into the dark ocean. She lifted her head slightly, those eyes taking in the huge sky above her. A soft sigh escaped, expanding her chest, before collapsing it and letting relaxation settle over her. The white caps rolled up and wrapped around her front paws, then continued and enveloped around her hind quarters. It sunk into her body, cooling her to the core before it relapsed and pulled back into the big sea.
She felt completely at peace. Her memories and thoughts distant and untroubled. Skyler sighed again, before the sun dipped completely under the horizon and left her world in darkness. She opened her eyes to the night, her light from the full moon that looked down at her. She wanted to smile up at it, but a smile felt wrong. Things were too troublesome to smile. So she stood, stretching out her limbs and tense muscles, then took a step towards the sea, the waves coaxing her foreword by moving over her paws then back, leading into the ocean like the siren's call. The moments passed before she turned around, towards the shore, and walked up it, leaving behind soft imprints in the sand, soon to be washed away by the coming tides.
Skyler slowed, then stepped onto an abandoned towel, laying down on it. She rested her head off the blanket, watching the water creep towards her, then relapse again more then ten feet away.

The blood red setting sun tainted the world with it's golden rays, which slowly receded as the magnificent orb floated farther under the horizon. The lukewarm breeze rippled through his silky fur as he stood and contemplated the beauty of this scenery. How he missed these scenes of his native land Russia. A sigh pushed the air out of his lungs and he sniffed the air, his sensitive olfactory sense telling him a storm was coming. This was the calm before the thunder.
His alabaster limbs swiftly came into motion in a graceful and light trot. His hunter lineage doted him with long, thin legs and a deep chest, an obvious runner. His senses were acutely atuned to the sights, sounds and smells of the world, benefitting him in a hunt. The paws came in contact with the earth silently, although he wasn't trying to be stealthy. He was naturally always on the lookout for danger, or prey. Most dogs begged for food or stole it from the humans, but he was one of the only dogs that hunted whatever he ate. As he gracefully made his way along the country road, his highly tuned hearing and smell detected a hare in the field.
Immediatly alerted, he slipped into a crouch as he entered the field. There was no doubt to any onlooker that he knew what he was doing. The paws placed themselves with care and complete silence, and the body kept well under the horizon line. His chocolaty brown saddle masked the alabaster of his limbs as he approached expertedly. Suddenly, his hind muscles uncoiled in a burst of speed and he launched himself at the rabbit. His jaws grazed the hare's back as it bolted, with Alek on it's heels. His incredible speed came into play, along with his remarkable agility, permitting him to follow the hare in it's tight twists and turns.
His unforgiving jaws snapped onto the neck of the defenceless animal, breaking it instantly. It went limp in his mouth. Barely panting, he started to head to a nice beach where he could enjoy his meal. By the time he had arrived, the beautiful red sun had been swallowed by the horizon and a full moon winked down at him. His eyesight wasn't at it's best at night, but he could see quite well. He sniffed the air, and noticed a trace of another dog in the breeze. Excited about the prospect of maybe making a friend, he gracefully galoped to the beach. The rabbit still in his mouth, he walked his way over to the dalmatian in the soft sand.
A smile spread on his lips as he approached, not wanting to scare her. He set the rabbit in the sand. " 'Ello Miss." he said. "Does you admire de evening tonight?" he asked awkwardly, his Russian accent rolling in his words. He wasn't even sure the vixen would understand his words, but he hoped so.

Our female's visionaries drifted from the rolling white caps to the moon above, the maiden returning the gaze from her starry field. Unknown to us, what was exchanged between the two, but a soft smile crossed the canine's ebonite lips; the first in a long time. She wondered momentarily about the stars, their hanging nature, the glow they cast and the hidden smiles they wore, before the sound of a deep, accented voice brought her from playing with the universe. Her visage lifting from it's resting place and her eyes immediately catching on the willowy figure.
Her auds shifted slightly, trying to catch the interesting accent he carried, while her mind took in his stance, then the scent of a fresh catch before his paws. She had been so deep in the skies she hadn't smelled anything or even heard his steps. She felt slightly embarrassed, like being caught doing something wrong, and she didn't know how to react. Between processing this and decoding his words, she stared up at him, before reality snapped and she fell into her weary feral state.
Our Skyler stood to confront the brute, while everything inside her knew he was no threat. He bared no fangs, and held no warnings, instead the glint in his eyes was welcoming, and his voice was warm in all it's confusing ways. One thing was present more then anything, though, and it was the opportunity at hand. Her stomach rumbled quietly at her, and she knew she had the chance to catch a quick meal, but it would bring her another problem; his reaction. If she bolted for the catch, he would turn vexed easily, even vicious. She licked her lips, glancing at the soft pelt of the rabbit then meeting his eyes for a brief second. "Food." It was all she seemed to be able to say, before she took a hesitant step towards him.
Her nostril twitched to catch the scent. Our female stopped, then took that step back and raised her head the slightest increment, watching him now instead. "The evening... Y-yes?" She seemed to smile momentarily, giving a shot at the best answer to his question.

Her state of obvious dreaminess was brutally interrupted when he talked, and he felt almost guilty of breaking her solitude. The female lifted her face up to him and he saw in her eyes she looked slightly embarrassed. Her ears turned in his direction, and he hoped she wasn't having too many problems with decoding his phrase. She seemed to notice the kill at his feet and reality set in. He watched her, now slightly wary of her reaction.
She stood, and Aleksey didn't move a muscle. His chocolate brown gaze looked unflinchingly at her. He was trying to decipher reaction. Even though he wanted to make a friend, he didn't want to be caught off guard. His sensitive hearing picked up the grumbling of her stomach and his flopped over ears turned in her direction. He saw her attitude change; she hesitated, probably to swipe his meal. Food was all she seemed to manage to say. She took a step toward him. "Ve can share da rabbit if you vant" he said, trying to sound more American.
He saw her head raise slightly and now look at him, not the food. He met her blue eyes and smiled, trying to make himself look nice. Even if she made a swipe for the meal, he knew she had no chance of going far before he caught her up. Running was in his breed. She took a step back and he knew she wasn't going to go after the meal. She seemed to not be thinking about that at that moment. She looked like she was going to say something and he tilted his head slightly. A smile played on her lips for a moment, and he smiled too. She seemed just as awkward as he felt, and he felt slightly reassured.
He thought about what to say next. Presentations seemed to be in order, but he hesitated, wondering if the female really wanted to meet him or would rather be left alone. He'd already said he would share the rabbit with her, so no turning back. He wanted his share of the kill too, since he had made it. Not that it had particularly tired him, but all the same, he was hungry too. "I am Aleksey, you can call me Alek." he said, trying to get the conversation going.

As strange as it was, it made her happy, and with every word it was easier to understand him. She was relieved after he had offered to share, so she raised her head more, trying to match his height but falling short -literally. Skyler felt that smile grow more, and her eyes squinted a bit at his name. "Alek... I like that." She started feeling giddy now. Giddy that she felt safe, the safest she'd felt in a while. She knew this tall Alek wouldn't harm her, even though she had really just met him. She liked that foreign accent and his exotic aura.
"I'm Skyler." Our female's tail glided twice through the air, before falling down behind her again. She dared another step towards him, scenting and watching, before closing the distance carefully, until she was two feet from him. From there, she stretched her neck, nostrils twitching to catch that foreign smell. Her tail flew again, that happiness jumping up again.
She waited a moment, pulling back from her stretch before dipping her head and scouting the kill for a second. Skyler looked up at him, then mouthed the rabbit, pulling out some of the fur. Our female stopped, raising her head again and squirming slightly, turning unsure. "I don't eat much.. it's your kill." She looked towards the silent city up the beach, deep blues watching, an instinctive behavior to make her seem a bit uninterested.

His tail slashed through the air in a happy wag, realising this could be his first friend in this new country. He hadn't seen the breed of dog she was often, and tried to remember the name. He knew it started with "d" but he wasn't sure of the rest. Daltian? Dalmtian? Dlatian? he thought. He knew it was close, but couldn't remember exactly. Yet the fur that draped the female's body was easily noticeable. . .
She raised her head, and she wasn't as tall as he was. She squinted at his name and he smiled, wagging his tail, when she said she liked "Alek". He listened carefully to her name. He tried to say it in his mind, and murmured it under his breath. At least he could sort of pronounce it, although his heavy accent distorted it slightly. "A beautivul name. It suitz you vell." he said, looking at her sky blue eyes. She took another step forward, and he scented her (to him) foreign scent. She seemed to be interested in his too. She closed the distance between them, and he wagged his tail as she wagged her's.
Then she dropped her look down to the kill again and he smiled. She looked hungry, hungrier than he was. It was a pretty large hare, adn he was glad that they wouldn't waste it. She raised her head and seemed to look unsure. At her words, he smiled reassuringly. "You look much 'ungrier than I is. Take vhat you vant." he said a charming tone in his voice. Putting a paw on the kill, he sunk his razor-sharp teeth into the kill and bent his powerful neck muscles, tearing the skin off the hindquarters. He turned the hare so that the meaty rump, the best part, faced her. He gave her an encouraging smile before starting on the neck of the animal.

She listened to when he murmured her name, and it gave her a thrill the way he spoke it with that intense accent. Sky nodded slightly, returning his gaze. "You can call me Sky, if you want to.. it's easier."
When he bent his head down, she secretly watched him, the power in his movements, the grace of his lanky body and the confidence he carried. His jaws parted, those sharp fates easily digging into the rabbit's flesh and sending more thrills through Skyler's body. She bowed her visage too, and she couldn't help but notice the brushing of their muzzles as he moved to the head of the kill.
Skyler opened her mouth slightly, her tongue slipping out to taste the fresh meat, before her mouth parted more and bite down into the rump. She immediately moved closer, stripping the meat from the leg, then the hip. To reach the underside of the rabbit, she had to turn around until she was against Alek's body. She ate until her half of the rabbit was almost clean except for the few parts she couldn't clean off the bones without completely taking the rabbit in her paws and holding it down, which she knew would appear like she was taking the meal for herself.
Our Skyler pulled back, licking her maw in satisfaction and sitting down beside Alek. "Thank you, Alek, for sharing." She fell to watching his movements in silence, admiring the hunter's body.

It was much easier to pronounce. He was starting to get slightly frustrated at his accent, but determined it wasn't much of a nuisance with Sky, since she understood what he was saying. He almost smiled at that thought, the joyof someone understanding even wihtout him repeating. He couldn't help but notice her beauitful deep blue eyes.
She dropped her head to eat and their muzzles brushed slightly. He smiled in the rabbit, hoping she hadn't noticed. He ate the available meat on the neck of the animal and and started on the shoulder. He watched as he ate, Sky, who was cleaning the rabbit down to the bone. Her body came alongside his and he eyed her out of the coner of his eye. She was beautiful, her body curved gracefully and he thougth she looked neither underfed or over fed. Her sweet features were particularly obvious as he was only a few inches from her.
He got full after eating the shoulder, and raised his head. Sky was cleaning the half of her rabbit, and she stopped when she had done so. He smiled at her words and bowed his head slightly. "It vos my pleasure. I is finished, you can take da rest if you vould like." he said, his mile widening. He sat in the now cool sand and watched her, trying to be discreet.

She brought herself to her paws, taking the step forward, before dipping her front half down to her elbows and pushing her nose underneath the rabbit, flipping it over then grabbing it in her jaws. She laid down in front of Alek, looking up at him then at the rabbit. Skyler's paws wrapped around the rabbit, holding it in place while she tilted her head slightly and nibbled at the left overs. After a moment, Skyler sighed thoughtfully, her stomach full and her emotions warm, but odd and confusing.
Skyler licked her lips, pulling back slightly and releasing her hold on the carcass. She returned her gaze to the tall vagabond, feeling slightly ashamed that she had taken the carcass and licked it clean. She remembered her mother saying it was rude, but moments ago she had wanted only more food, yet when she began, she wasn't so hungry, only embarrassed. At this, Sky smiled, shaking it from her thoughts just because she didn't feel like being that constant-worry canine she always was. With Alek, she wanted to be happy, like she was while eating, or when they traded names. He made her excited and euphoric, and not at all self-conscious like she was with her mother or with other canines. Being around Alek, period, was just awesome.
She cleared her throat, "Will you stay here, for just the evening?" Skyler brought herself to a sitting position, curious if he wouldn't mind keeping her company.

Making her happy made him feel good, and his smile seemed to express his joy, having it's place on his maw so naturally, it's sincerity almost shone. The beautiful fae flipped the rabbit over as he watched, lowering himself in the sand. He analised what he was feeling, and was surprised to be feeling so happy about making her happy. Something with her wasn't the same as with others, but he couldn't tell what. The only thing he knew, was that he wanted to stay with her, and that's all that really mattered in his mind.
Slightly troubled by his emotions, he didn't show it, and watched Sky eat the leftovers. Glad the rabbit wouldn't be wasted, he admired her saphiric blue eyes. It was an intense, bright colour, one that burns into your memory. His emotions were odd, as though you'd just dropped warm coals into his stomach, difusing a lovely warmth. Sky had finished the carcass and was licking her lips, and his fluffy tail flew through the air behind him. His eyes twinkled with a cheerful light. His eyes turned questioning when she seemed to become embarrassed but he didn't ask any questions, not wanting to deepen her shame.
But a smile worked a way onto her maw, and she seemed to have thought about something else, his smile widened as her's appeared on her lips. She cleared her throat and asked if he was going to stay and he felt like answering immediately. "Of course" he said a smile dancing on his lips.

For a moment, she stayed there before him, basking in the company and the simplicity of her thoughts in this place, with this male.
Being the persona that she was, she was easily unsettled by her emotions. Whatever emotion that wasn't outrage, content, or sadness was alien and uncomfortable for her. She didn't understand her thoughts, her heart. She didn't want to, either. She was completely satisfied knowing only the three ranges of emotions, and anything else she knew she could live without. For all her life, she never took in grief or agony, love and pleasure was lost, so was that bounding puppy nature, or humor. If one was to tell her about them, she would bluntly ignore them. There was no place for that in a stray's life.
For this odd emotion to flit into her stomach was a complete astonishment. She had never felt it before. Sure, our Skyler had heard of love, but knowing it or feeling it was out of the question. Not only because she chose to avoid it, but she just simply never experienced it. Between coping with a brand new friendship, this company for the evening, and relaxing enough to bask in it, the butterflies in her stomach and the warmth in her chest was getting too confusing.
Our Skyler yanked away from the thoughts before she could delve into them too deeply, returning to the deep almonds of her companion. She sighed briskly, before standing and walking to his side. She brushed his nose with hers, her tail sifting through the air continuously, this time without stopping. She pulled away before the urges of showing affection appeared, and to replace them she turned and walked slowly towards the calming seas. "Alek, walk with me, please?" She glanced back, but away quickly to seem uninterested, hoping to not expose too much of her awkward emotions.
She stepped into the reach of the waves. They immediately rushed up to great her, the white caps spilling around her front paws, then when they fell back, some of the bubbles clung to her white pillars, refusing to let go until the waves came up again and replaced them with more.

Although Sky's fine features gave none of this away, in the depth of the oceanic oculi, he could see it. The hunter was usually quite good at seeing the emotions of others, but this fae was the most arduous to decode. Far from disliking it, it was another aspect of the little part of her persona he knew now that he liked. His emotions swirling in an incomprehensible storm, he thought his eyes must be giving his awkwardness away, and hoped they weren't.
He listened to the sounds of the night, the waves, the breeze, their breaths and their hearts, all mixing in a soothing melody which described the moment, as calm yet stormy on the inside. The sweet aroma of his new friend drowned the other scents of the night as he etched it into his mind. He wondered if she was feeling the same thing, the confusing storm that were his thoughts and emotions. Probably not, he thought. The simple phrase sent a spear of despair down his spine, and he puzzled over why he was feeling such pain at the thought she might not like him as much as he did. He sought answers from his heart.
He knew he was in love, and the moment he knew that, it all became clear. It also scared him, not knowing what she felt for him, knowing he wouldn't have the courage to declare his love. He had chased down wolves in Russia, confronted bears, yet he wouldn't have the courage to tell a girl he loved her. It was pathetic. His occuli dropped to the silver-tinted sand, hiding his shame as he recollected his thoughts. He didn't want to think about that, he just wanted to relax in the company of the blue-eyed damsel in front of him. He lifted his gaze, and it met with Sky's, and a thrill was sent down his spine.
She got to her feet and padded over, brushing her muzzle against his, as the touch sent shivers of pleasure barely visible in his blood stream. She started walking away, and he shifted into a sitting position. "Of course. . ." he said, his voice velvety as he pronounced the words. He tended to roll his "R"s slightly and distort words with his accent, but he guessed it would stay like that until he knew how to pronounce them right. He jumped up onto his brown and white pillars and walked gracefully up to her as she stopped near the sea.
He stopped the motion of his limbs next to her, the white froth from the waves clinging to his curly coat until washed by more. Under the moonlight, everything shone silvery grey and beautified the landscape and one of the only things he noticed in it, Skyler. He couldn't find anything to say, only wanting to admire the prefection of the moment as he turned his gaze back to the grey-hued ocean.

It moved her in so many ways, but it was so confusing. Standing in the night against a dark blue backdrop, the stars outstanding with the moon beaming down against her, the cool touch of it's silver fingers rushing through her fur and intensifying the moment. From inches away, she felt the might of the tall, lean male beside her. The power that emanated off his body. The way he watched her so respectfully, yet like she was the most amazing thing to ever walk the planet. He made her feel important and interesting and beautiful, like she was the very moon above them.
"Alek, what am I feeling?" The words swirled the air around them and hung between them. Our Skyler spoke slowly, quietly, yet without thinking first. As if he held the answer to the colorful pigments of emotions inside of her, like he could see inside of her mind, into her soul and show her what she felt. When he watched her, though, she felt exactly like that. She liked being exposed to him, something she would never do to another canine.
It was funny to her, how moments before she was laid across a blanket, a shroud of mystery and steel walls, locks and barbed wire. She would never consider opening to another, never step outside her wall and take a risk to let someone in on her little world, yet in the blink of an eye it all changed. A handsome, classy character appeared before her and gave her food, and while nothing was exchanged between them but the silence and comfort of each others company, a whole entire world was created where only each other existed, and she could tell him everything without saying anything at all. But they couldn't thrive together with just empty words between them, only names and secret feelings. She knew, even under all this mixed thoughts, that they needed to understand each other, if there was any chance she could be around him for their life, if only for a while.

How long had the sands of time been flowing through that silvery world, as it had done since eternity? Aleksey didn't know. Did it have any speck of importance to the male? No. The moment was so sublime, tinted with impossible perfection, that it seemed to him it could hardly last. The simple thought of it being broken was heart-renching. The soft chocolate gaze sank into the oceanic pools of the damsel next to him, the emotions clearly spelled as if she could read his mind.
The words rolled from her tongue, in a quiet, yet poignant way into the air. The simple phrase carried by her voice into his ears, almost bewitching. In that brief instance, he felt she had the same swirl of complexe emotions cast in her mind as he did, a colourful painting of ever changing confusion. When he spoke, his voice was low, deep and tinted with the exotic touch of his Russian origins. "The same feelings as I. Love." The words wer out before a thought, without any cringe. He realised it hadn't taken much to admit it, the phrase had slipped out effortlessly.
He knew, through all his thoughts, that she was it. He was so euphorically happy to have found what he was unconsciously looking for throughout his adult life. She came to fill the hole in his soul he was only now aware of. A warm euphoria was spreading throughout his body, so marvelous it was almost unreal. The earth-hued muzzled came gently into contact with hers in a timid yet loving gesture of affection. They needed no words to feel happy in each other's company and they only needed to understand each other.
The words rolled from her tongue once more, enchanting his senses with it's soft accents. A discreet smile crept onto his features, glowing in it's sincerity. They both wanted to know each other. "Ask and the information is yours." he said simply, a declaration sent with sincerity into the air of the night. He didn't want to hide anything from her, he wanted her to know him, the true Alek. His smile never left his lips and his eyes plunged into hers, his emotions open to her through those openings into his soul.

She felt the breath escape her maw and the rest of the world faded while her question was answered, plainly and coated with the exotic rush of his origins. She watched the word roll off his lips so perfectly, the syllable drifting and catching in the air between them, like a secret two kids shared had been let out.
Skyler felt around for the words before she felt a smile creep across her features. "Love." She repeated, feeling suddenly whole and complete, her confusing emotions having a name, and no longer confusing.
At the next thing he said, she hesitated, suddenly unsure. She didn't have any questions about him, she didn't even have any prepared, she just felt like they needed to know about each other before they dove head first. She smiled more, shaking her head slightly. "I don't know, I feel like I know you so much already, even in the little time we've been together, but I also feel like... maybe we should.. I don't know..." She turned away, looking down at the white caps as they moved up and around their paws, the same water pulling at them and bringing them closer. She took a step towards him, meeting him half way as he stretched out to her. Their muzzles brushed, then she stepped closer and buried her face in his neck, brushing up against his muzzle and smiling. He was warm, strong and inviting. She loved him being this close, loved that there was nothing between them now, that these feeling could be expressed in the only way she knew how.
