A light fog clung almost desperately to the rolling landscape that made up this small bit of paradise she'd found tucked away from the ever present bustle of both human and canine. Thanks to Keisha she had some form of her old confidence back, at least when she was alone. The bravo quickly fled in the presence of another living creature, much to her shame. Perhaps one day she'll find a way to break free of the bonds still holding her firmly in the past.
Birds twittered in a cheerful morning call heralding the sun's slow encroachment upon the nights secretive embrace. Slipping nimbly from the small nook she'd found half dug beneath the thick roots of a gnarled old white birch. Only a few paces would be taken into the morning before the snow white collie lowered herself to the fiery leaf covered forest floor, a striking contrast of colors. Twisting to her back the fae indulged in a brief moment of unchecked pleasure as she burrowed into the dew touched earth. Such times were few and far in between, when she let her guard down enough to simply be.
She knew her fears to some may have been silly to the point of ridiculous but she could not help the loss of confidence when another appeared. Since she was a pup she'd been shy, a gentle heart whose eventual ritzy owner had broken over and over when she'd been forced to endure a near constant stream of admires. Her only luck had been in the fact that her owner refused to breed her, to afraid that it'd ruin her figure. Everyday she'd been groomed several times to keep her coat silky in appearance as well as touch. May the heavens strike any down should their fingers get entangled in the collie's pristine coat. Such things were an affront to her mistress.
It may have been these very thoughts that caused the white female to thrash in the dirt and leaves, while not dirtying her coat much it was still a subtle sort of rebellion. Of course sooner rather then later she'd go find herself a quick bath, since Keisha had taught her to once again take pride in her appearance.

Comfort was found here int he forest between the trees, a place where the half wolf had grown up and learnt to survive. Abra tended to avoid places where there were humans, he'd never been around them enough to know what they were like and he didn't know how to behave around them. He'd accidentally stumbled upon a few people hiking once and they had freaked out upon seeing his lanky figure.
He was walking through the trees, his paws silent on the earth despite its coat of dried and dead leaves. Growing up with wolves was a good way to learn about moving silently and not giving away where you were. But it also had its disadvantages.
The canine's mind was elsewhere as he continued to walk through the forest, not paying any attention to where he was going or what he was doing. He nearly blended in with his surroundings and as he came slinking around the trunk of a tree he nearly stumbled upon the white female but he managed to stop in time and he stood, blinking, for a few moments.
"Sorry.. Hi."
He suddenly spoke, snapping out of his dazed and thoughtful state of mind with a crooked smile on his face and an amused and playful look dancing in his intense golden brown eyes. He watched the female and waited for her to react to him being there.

All she knew was that one moment she was playing rather foolishly in the autumn toned leaves then next there was a large looming visage of what could only be a wolf. She'd heard tales, usually spoken in hushed whispers of wild cousins, of their dark and wild ways. Despite the girls words of warning where these creatures were concerned their tones had told a completely different tale to the observant collie. She didn't doubt for a minute that any of those almost forgotten vapid friends of her past would have given their first diamond collar to be where Anni stood right now, or rather lay staring up at him with open shock.
It was that realization that she was still on her back had the tightly compacted frame draped in white twisting around while rolling to her slender legs until she faced the larger brute. Tail held firmly against her hind legs while she scampered back. "I-i-i.." Dark optics dropped refusing to meet the burnt gold of his amused gaze. Swallowing she attempted to speak once more, the quiet gentle tones of her voice skipped over the words in an ever present stutter she'd never seemed to be able to master. "H-hello." A thousand thoughts flashed through her mind, the most prominent among them would be the horror that she may have been sleeping in a pack claimed territory.
Even while she attempted to appear as small and insignificant as possible Anni was studying the male curiously. After all he'd said sorry, but why on earth would he sorry too her?! It was Keisha's voice from the past telling her to stop cringing or she'd come chew her leg off, and act like the lady she was that brought the snow white creature upright slightly though that gaze had yet to lift to his she no longer appeared fearful, simply bashful. Soft warm vocals rose again as she fell back on manners. "F-f-forgive m-me, I-i w-w-was not a-a-aware I-i had c-c-company."

Abra tilted his head to the side as he watched her from his position, seeing the shock displayed on her features and the amused and playful look remained within his eyes. He watched as she rolled onto her feet and scampered back from him as though he was about to pounce on her and made her his dinner and it hurt his feelings and saddened him deeply that she should seem to think that, though none of this showed on his sheepishly charming expression as he continued to watch her and listened to her speak.
She stutters!! Cute!
The animal couldn't help but find her more interesting because of that, he found it appealing. Maybe because he sensed she might share some of his deeper feelings of being pushed aside because of not being the same as everyone else, of being so different that you weren't welcome. But maybe she didn't... Maybe he was the only one.
When she raised her body away from the earth his tail wagged in a happy encouraging fashion, ears pulled back slightly as he lowered his own body to the earth to lie down so as not to appear as scary as he might have at first. Better to not make any possibilities at making an acquaintance go to waste because he made them run for their lives just because of what he was.
His back legs were stretched out behind him on the earth as he lay there casually, forelegs resting out in front of him calmly as well as he watched her from his low position, ears twitching as she spoke again.
"I would help if your company didn't sneak up on you though, won't it?"
His words came playfully and casually, encouraging her to relax and feel at ease around him. For truly he had the type of nature that was easy to get along with, where there was a gap in conversation he would fill it, and awkward silence he would break it. He was the type of canine to allow those around him to let loose and have some fun. Though sometimes everything about him made him seem charming in a hopeless and unintentional way that was none the less interesting to others and occasionally seemed to draw them to him. But his alluring tendencies weren't always such a good thing for him or whoever it was that was being tempted to try and get closer to him for it would just make him run in fear.

His expression was open, friendly and calming. Even his words pulled a shy soft chuckle from the confines of her chest. "I-i s-s-suppose your r-r-right. Y-your a-awful q-q-quiet w-w-when y-you m-m-move." Such words coming from other females may have been taken in a different manner with which they were uttered by the timid creature before him.
The long lengths of icy white strands were only marred by midnight ears and a single teardrop of ebony centered atop her cranium. Slender of form she would eventually allow her muscles to relax enough so that her pose bore much more dignity then she actually felt in her quivering innards. Beneath the surface she was a bundle of nerves, even as the silence stretched her gaze flickering everywhere but him. First of all she was horrible at conversation, she never could understand how the dogs of her circle had managed to come up with so many different topics to gnaw at.
Eventually the shy uncertain gaze rested on his form. He still wore a welcoming expression. "I'm c-c-c.." Here she would pause swallowing visibly before making another attempt. "I-i'm Q-q-qan-nnik." Embarrassed her skull dropped, her stutter often left others feeling nothing but disgust for her and usually right about now she'd either be attacked or ignored. Nervously she waited to see which path he would take. Without a doubt she'd fall prey to his hunter, and no matter how pathetic her life may now be, she still valued it.

Hearing her words his tail wagged again, looking somewhat apologetic though when she mentioned that he was quiet whee moved.
"Sorry."
He just gave her a quick, good-natured apology before waiting to see what she might do next, he could tell that she was shy though so he would try even harder no to scare her in any way. When she told him her name he moved so that he could get up onto his feet again, just standing there calmly now while he continued to watch her.
"I'm Abracadabradus. But don't worry about all of it, Abra is fine."
His tail still wagged slightly and he noticed her embarrassment, going closer to her and reaching his nose towards hers, not sure whether she would let him get close enough for them to touch though. He didn't want her to feel embarrassed about anything, or even too shy for that matter.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Qannik. Even if I did have to sneak up on you so you'd talk to me."
His tone was friendly and a little teasing with his second statement, that lopsided smile still stuck on his face as he backed away from her a bit again, lowering his chest to the ground and leaning back to stretch his body, bristling his thick fur for a few moment before he stood again and shook himself a little.

Oh gods how was am I going to spit that big of a name out without butchering it so horribly with my ridiculous stutter? But even as this thought flirted across her mind he was offering a shorten version which brought about a silent sigh of relief. Just as quickly as she looked up at him her gaze dropped back to the ground. Though behind the fae a gentle hesitant sway of that tail shifted slightly as the stiffness slowly bled from its lengthening presence.
The tease in his tones brought about the canines equivalent of a blush to her visage. Gathering her nerve she attempted to return the playful teasing of his with a line of her own. "M-m-maybe I l-l-l-l-let." A moments pause before continuing. "Y-y-you s-sneak up o-o-on m-me." Even Anni knew how corny that sounded which was exactly why she avoided conversations. All she seemed to manage to come across as was a fool, and that never sat well with the white border collie.
A brief sharp moment of longing had her wishing Keisha were still with her, the little chocolate Chihuahua would know exactly what to say to the wolf like creature whose friendly expression and open demeanor kept the panic and need to flee immediately at bay. A feeble attempt to mask her earlier blunder Qannik blurted out the next thought that came to mind. "W-w-what b-brings y-y-you o-out h-h-here." Of course as soon as the words left her mouth she wished them back. He was after all a wolf right? More or less he should be asking her, a city dog, what she was doing so far from civilization.

Hearing her reply to his teasing he wagged hist ail again and chuckled quietly, he didn't think that her words were corny or anything like that, he liked that she could tease him in return instead of just getting more shy. Hearing her question though he thought for a quick second.
"Sneaking, pouncing, hunting.. Just surviving like everyone else."
His tone was playful as he spoke to her and his expression remained the same despite his mind being in turmoil, thoughts of why he was really out here spinning around in it and making him almost feel dizzy. He didn't have anywhere else to be, he couldn't go anywhere nearer to civilization because he would be rejected, cast out to the side like some unwanted back of rotten vegetables.
"Why are you out here, Qannik? Wondering around in the woods seems a dangerous thing to do for a pretty little dog like you."
There was slight concern in his playful tone as he spoke to her this time, his eyes resting on her curiously. Lowering his butt to the ground to sit down. He would just wait for her to become more comfortable around him before he'd probably try to get her to play or do something, he was a lonely creature and was enjoying having some company already.

For all her intelligence hidden beneath the bashful exterior, she hadn't really given coming out here very much thought, as evident in her sunken belly. When she'd made the sudden and unexpected decision to leave the fairgrounds thought hadn't really been involved. In an attempt to follow a certain chocolate brown Chihuahua's advice she'd approached a dropped hotdog with a little more confidence then she normally had. The result had been a vicious kick that had sent her skidding several yards before she'd been able to gain her paws and race away. It'd been days before the pain and panic resided, when it had she'd found herself wandering in this place.
She wasn't about to tell him that though. She looked foolish enough in most eyes without adding such stupidity to the mix. At a loss for what to say she would roll her shoulders in a human like mimic of a shrug. "I r-really d-d-don't k-know." The sheepishness was obvious beneath the soft whispery lyrics of her vocals.
She was, by the nature of her breed, a curious creature. Something she rarely gave into, but she wanted to know was he really. "I-i-i d-don't m-m-mean t-to be r-rude b-b-but a-a-are y-you a w-w-wolf? A-a-a r-real w-w-olf? Folded twins draped in onyx and snow tipped forward revealing that spark that lay concealed beneath the timid nature of the fae. She truly meant no ill will with her question. Truthfully she secretly found wolves fascinating, and here one stood, well maybe. She wandered briefly while waiting his answer, if he would let her ask him questions, and if he did would she be able to gather the nerve to ask him?

When she questioned him about whether he was a real wolf or not his smile grew bigger as he leaned towards her, lips raised enough for the tips of his fangs to show clearly. "Only half." He told her playfully, standing up again as he kept smiling. "But I might as well be full wolf, I was raised by the pack so I've only ever known the life of a wolf." He added, just explaining a little bit about his life so far, he couldn't tell her too much because he found it hard to remember too much, his mind just chose to block out anything from his past that involved too much emotion so that he wouldn't need to experience any feelings connected to the memories.
He didn't mind answering the questions that he could and if she were to start asking them he would just become amused and end up making his answers more dramatic even if they weren't truthful just to see how she might react to what his words were. He enjoyed playing tricks on people and joking around, it was just in his nature to be that way.
