This ain't a broken heart homie singin' only 'cause he's lonely, This ain't a love song, This ain't a whiskey-drowned ballad, There ain't nothing here that's valid, So tell me baby, pretty baby, that this house is not a graveyard, Tell me how to stay strong and carry you home, Over corpses of her long-lost fathers and her unborn daughters, God dammit, I just can't do it alone I soared down the beach, kicking out sand with every push of my lean muscles. The small decrease in number of the human population on the beach had brought be out of the streets.
I slowed into a trot, my ears and docked tail held high. I glanced around, I had gone to the side where few people were. Deciding it was safe, I walked forward.
I paused when I felt cool water around my russet paws. I looked down. I watched the water spill over my paws before dragging back away. With one quick glance around the empty beach, I ran out into the water.
I felt the sand move underpaw. I scented the salt in the ocean, burning my nose. I fought the waves that tried to move me off course. I closed my eyes against the sting of the sea. I felt the water lap at my short belly fur.
And, despite all of these things, I loved it. I let myself move with the foaming waves, careful to not to get to deep.
Because of all these things, and my pure enjoyment, I was drifting away from the real world, where only me and inner peace existed. I started when I saw a flash of fur out of the corner of my eye. I felt my muscles automatically tense. This wasn't a pet visiting the waters, I could sense it.
I couldn't get a clear vision of the creature, my eyes burning. I couldn't scent whether it was male or female, the salt making my nose raw with pain. I let out a wary sigh, pulling against the waves toward the dry sand. I felt my muscles ache as I fought against the current trying to pull me back. I clenched my teeth, ignoring my muscles' screaming protests as I made my way to shore. Oh no, no, I'm not impressed with you, Pink drinks that seem to get the best of you, Rock late and sleep until the sun sets, I'd talk but you took the tongue I talk with [ c h a r a c t e r ] Knife Blade[ w o r d s ] 312 [ f o r ] Outlaw's Tink[ m u s i c] I Can't Do it Alone - 3OH!3 [ m u s e ] I have a good amount of muse, I believe. [glow=9DA5A8,5,500]Satinka[/glow] A lot of people are afraid of heights. Not me, I'm afraid of widths. [/center] The sand felt good slipping and shifting beneath her paws, a pleasant change from the rough hard surface. That coupled with the fact that it was one of the few times when humans weren't crowding the beach, instead they were off stuffing their faces with whatever delectables they chose. An irritating thought when you had to scavenge through their discards for something edible, and being the picky eater that she was, often found the slender silvered beast going hungry.
A pause in motion as the sounds of a dogs paddle caught her attention, it wasn't surprising why she hadn't scented the presence of another as the canines scent was all but swallowed by the salty waves the doberman traversed. Captivated, long floppy twins tip forward, smokey pink tipped muzzle twitched with a desire to join in the powerful looking canines antics, so much so that several paces were taken forward.
It wasn't the fact that she knew nothing of this canine, where it was male or female kind or otherwise that halted the fae in her advancement. It was the sensation of water lapping against her paws and the sudden fear that washed her veins. Gaze dropped to the waters lapping surface as memories rushed through her. She had been swimming when they had just packed up, swimming while they got in their car and drove off. Had they cared? Had they even noticed she wasn't in her place on the floor between the two boys?
Stumbling back away from the waters edge broke her gaze and released her from the self doubts that plagued her quiet moments. It was at this point that she noticed the ebony color beast had drawn closer. Using this as a perfect distraction from her broken self confidence Tink bounded over to where it would most likely exit the waters clinging fingers. Dusty rose lips part while that pinken muscle hung out in a wide grin, nostrils quivering in an attempt to discern some sort of information about the four legged creature.

I watched silently as the dog watched me. I raised my muzzle, feeling the crashing weight of a wave land on my back. I shook my head, trying to get the water out of my ears. A lot of good that did, I thought irritably. I let out a huff before leaping forward, almost to shore. I paused, almost hesitantly as the dog bounded to where I would exit the water.
I could change course.. I could stand out in the water, the dog didn't seem to want to come in it. I heaved a soft sigh, the noise being lost in the waves. I couldn't get my way past dogs forever. Who said I wanted to be alone for forever anyways? I paused, my tongue flopping out of my mouth in a pant. I grimaced as the misty ocean spray hit it.
I had to admit, now that I was closer I could tell the creature looked friendly. And, what dog would even attack a dog that just came out of the water? I almost curled my lip at the thought, but I pushed it away, knowing the little chance of that happening. Aha! Alas! The water was about half way up up my leg, allowing me to lift my paws out of the water. I may look odd, but it was so much easier. I broke into a trot, now that the waves weren't pulling and pushing as bad.
I slowed as I came to the shore, watching the Weimaraner hesitantly. I lifted my black nose to the air, trying to caught a scent. Even though the scent of salt was in my nose, blinding me, I walked forward slowly. "Hello.." I said quietly, hesitantly. I felt the water drift back onto my paws, but I was busy watching for a reaction from the dog to bother getting onto dry sand. [glow=9DA5A8,5,500]Satinka[/glow] Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. Tink watched as the brute, for it was obviously a male the close he got to shore. His hesitation did nothing to dim the sparkle that glimmered in her expression. When he finally stopped uttering a quiet hello like he was shy. Strange... Came the thought while that narrow cranium pivoted upon its short muscled pillar, that lolling tongue flickered up and over her muzzle before disappearing within the dark recesses of her jaws. A step or two towards him brought them within a foot of each other. Curiosity lit silver optics from within, nasals quiver on an indrawn breath, so close to him now that even the sting of the salty air could not mask the masculine scent that was uniquely his.
Not wanting to frighten him off, if that was indeed possible, after all her girlfriends back home had often panted about the Doberman breed, she would pause. Not that Tink was actually involved with any of those particular conversations, she had after all never actually met one before. Either way that was then and this is now and she found herself face to face with a hesitant specimen. That friendly smile while not a gapping grin was still visible on her smokey rose lips. "Hello, I didn't mean to interrupt your swim."
With a sudden onslaught of bashfulness Satinka's head ducked, breaking eye contact. "I'm Satinka, but you can call me Tink." Now why had she offered her name when he hadn't given any more indication that he wanted a conversation? Silly mutt always getting a head of herself. Still what did it matter, since he hadn't shown any signs of aggression thus far Tink felt she was not in any kind of immediate danger, which may explain her incautious approach to this situation.

I made out the scent of the female through the salty spray. Female, and if that hadn't told me so, her voice would have. 'Hello, I didn't mean to interrupt your swim.' I flicked my ears, as if waving the issue away. I couldn't help but to like the way her voice sounded in my ears, it confused me. "Don't worry about it, I was done anyways," I said reassuringly. I looked her over. She was thicker than me, but I was taller, leaner. Something I did notice was her tail was docked, but two to three times longer than mine. That rather surprised me.
'I'm Satinka, but you can call me Tink.' I felt my eyes dance with amusement as she ducked her head, telling me her name. Hmm.. Satinka.., or Tink, she had said to call her. "Nice to meet you, Tink," I replied, letting the way her name sounded on my tongue ring in my ears. "I'm Knife Blade, but you can shorten it to Blade, if you would like," I barked. I dipped my head in greeting, as if bowing. But.. Knife Blade did not bow. Even to the ladies. [glow=9DA5A8,5,500]Satinka[/glow] Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. A smile danced across her maw as she covertly let her gaze dance over his frame. All she could think was, well nothing really since she couldn't seem to formulate more then a single syllable while looking at him. So her gaze would shift away from him to scan the horizon. "Mm it is a pleasure to meet you Blade." She had a feeling if she approached him like she had others, with a playful intent. he would bulk at it. Instead she trotted a few feet away then tossed a look over her shoulder towards him with an inviting glimmer in that silvered gaze. "Walk with me?" She did not know if he would accept the offer, but movement was better then standing still feeling awkward, at least awkward on her part.
The welcoming sway of that cropped tail echoed the invitation in her gaze. "What brings a dog like you out to my beach." How would she handle this silly attraction? With flirting of course, or at least she'd attempt to since she'd never actually flirted with someone before. Instead of waiting for him to make a choice, a shift in weight brought the silvered fae back to the ebony and earthen brutes side. Butting her shoulder up against his in a gentle nudge the same instant she spoke. "Come on Blade, I promise not to bite." A sparkle of laughter echoed in the lines of her visage, he was taller and held more solid muscle then she. "At least not on our first date." She would wink playfully before leaping a foot or two away. Once again turning to offer him a side view, Tink's cranium twisted to seek him out, pinken muscle slide out from the dark recesses of her jaws while ashen rose lips retained the laughing smile that seemed ever present on the Weimaraner.

'Mm it is a pleasure to meet you Blade.' I shook my head softly. A smirk fitted upon my muzzle softly. "Oh no, the pleasures all mine," I answered, dipping my head once more. I watched her walk away a few steps. I almost stepped forward to follow her, but I stopped myself. Normally, I would not even bother with another dog, but this time.. It was different, I didn't know how to explain it. I lifted my paw as she spoke - 'Walk with me?' - I set it back down hesitantly. Watching her, I looked over my options. I could walk with her, or I could refuse.. They were simple as that.
'What brings a dog like you out to my beach.' I looked at her, trailing away from my thoughts. Invitation was on her every stance. "Ahh. Warm weather, lack of people," I replied. I rolled my shoulders in a shrug. It seemed I was always here in the Fall and Spring. I watched her return back to my side. I cocked my head to the side, observing her. I felt her nudge my shoulder with her own. I let out a soft chuckle.
'Come on Blade, I promise not to bite... At least not on our first date.' "Oh, really? You look like you are very capable of doing so.." I replied, a smirk fitting my maw once more. "So that means on the second one, You'd bite?" I asked with a soft chuckle. I watched her bounce away once more. With one more chuckle, I replied, "Alright, I suppose I could go for a walk." With a slight spring in my step, I moved to her side.

[glow=9DA5A8,5,500]Satinka[/glow] Everything that is new or uncommon raises a pleasure in the imagination, because it fills the soul with an agreeable surprise, gratifies its curiosity, and gives it an idea of which it was not before possessed. The warmth of her laughter filled the air at his reply, she had been a bit fearful of his reaction the moment those silly words were out of her mouth, but that was how one went about flirting..right? The strength she'd briefly felt as she bumped her shoulder against his had left her a little intimidated. For some reason she had a feeling she wanted to remain on his good side, because she didn't think those that fell on his bad side faired very well for very long. She would wait until he came abreast with her lazy stride before replying. "Maybe, of course finding out for sure would mean a second date." The mood was light, and she kept it so, playful inconsequential banter. Well at least on the surface, concealed deep beneath that tarnished silvered pelt was a bundle of nerves, hoping he wouldn't take offense to the feeble cheese attempts at teasing, though his frequent smirks and low chuckles told her she shouldn't fear offending him
The gleam of silver flickered out across the beach as they continued on an invisible path, habit had the female dropping back half a step so that the doberman took the lead in their stroll. The sands were nearly deserted, an occasional human couple passed by, but even they seemed to keep their distance. The dance of the warm ocean scented air danced over the pair, greedily sucking at the moisture clinging to his darker frame. He'd be dry soon but she still had to ask. Twins drooped along either side of her skull, pivoted in his direction, giving her away. While she did not allow her gaze to drift back over to his form pacing beside her it was obvious her attention was still focused on him.

"Maybe, of course finding out for sure would mean a second date." I walked with her, observing her out of the corner of my eye. I felt a small smile, or my trademark smirk cover lightly on my maw. "Oh, Yes. Of course, how foolish of me thinking other wise," I replied, shaking my head lightly, my eyes dancing in amusement. I fell into an easy stride, twitching an ear in amusement as she dropped back every so slightly, allowing me to lead.
I continued walking on the invisible, unseen path. I wasn't going anywhere in particular. I for one, was glad to be moving instead of standing around awkwardly. I continued to walk, parallel with the ocean waves. I blinked as the few human or two walked by. But, luckily, they seemed smart enough to not come anywhere near. I glanced out of the corner of my eye, seeing her ears drop down.
I slowed down slightly, turning my head to her. I cocked my head to the side slightly. "You alright?" I asked, furrowing my brow slightly. I glanced out of my eye to look to where I was walking. I wasn't made for grace, I happened to trip over quite a bit if I wasn't careful.

[glow=9DA5A8,5,500]Satinka[/glow] The only way to have a friend is to be one. Satinka blinked several times before she realized she had not voice her inquiry about whether or not he was cold in the nippy winter winds. With a light laugh and a shrug in an attempt to be nonchalant about her error. "Of course." Playfully bumping shoulders with him. She hoped with every fiber of her being he had not caught her staring. What better way to hide her slip up then to change the topic.
As another set of humans, these looking to perhaps be on a double date, gave the two canines a wide berth Tink couldn't help but chuckles softly. "I wonder, do you think we smell? Or is it just your formidable appearance that has them jumping like long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs in order to avoid you?" She'd heard that saying somewhere, such a fun image it brought to mind.Yes she was a stereotypical canine in the aspect that she hated cats. Arrogant fur balls whose only aspirations in life were to find the warmest patch of sunlight and plop down there for the rest of the day.
Another rush of chilly winds reminded Tink that winter was upon them, granted there had yet to be a single snowflake fall, but soon, the breezes whispered. Soon the temperatures will drop even more and life will be even more difficult. These thought were but brief fleeting facts that were noted, but discarded for the moment she after all had something much better to occupy her mind at that moment.
A brief pause in her step while that slender muzzle dropped to the sand sniffing at a particularly colorful shell before a couple of trotted steps brought her back to his side.

We Are The Children You Reject And Disregard These Aching Cries Come From The Bottom Of Our Hearts ____________________ I snorted as she bumped against my shoulder. She seemed seemed to brush off whatever was on her mind, so I didn't press the matter. He walked on, keeping a steady pace. He felt a cold breeze waft through the air.
I pricked my ears as she chuckled. A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips. I, for one, had never seemed to understand why most dogs laughed at everything. But then again, she didn't seem to be the average dog. I blinked, realizing she was speaking. I glanced at her, amused. It wasn't often one heard a metaphor from a dog. Especially about cats. I had never liked cats, but he hadn't met many. He wasn't one to go out of his way just to give chase to the little fur balls. "Obviously I can't smell to bad. You have a better sense of smell then them, and you haven't left," I pointed out, chuckling.
I shook out my fur, trying not to shudder in the cool breeze. "Sorry," I huffed. I wasn't positive if she had gotten wet, but either way I'd apologize in advance. I wasn't the type of male to push females out of my way without a second glance though. I was a gentlemen, but there was a difference between being a gentlemen and being a fool. Some males going out of their way for such petty females. Fools and pitiful excuses for a dog, both really..
I blinked in mild surprise as she stopped to sniff among the sand. I stopped, pausing in my stride. I turned my head to her, observing her. I awaited for her to step back up to my side. I hunched my shoulders slightly as a breeze came off the water. Using my body, I shielded her from most of the chilly wind. With a soft sigh, I glanced around. "Looks like Winter is here," I said softly. It was rather obvious, but still. I stated it to no one in particular, other than myself. ____________________ You Can't Disown Us Now, We Are Your Own Flesh And Blood And We Don't Disappear Just Because Your Eyes Are Shut Notes;; 348 Speak;; I have realized.. Chuckling lightly she'd prance close to him, dipping that rose tipped silver muzzle in against his neck to playfully sniff at his neck. Wrinkling her nose she pulled away with a fake snort in an over dramatic way. "It must be your charming self that keeps me at your side. Pausing to rub those silver eyes against one extended foreleg, prolonging her joke just a bit more. Peeking up at him the laughter was evident in her gaze even while she attempted to maintain an pained expression.
She looked up just in time to seek him getting ready to shake out his fur, a light leap back wards carried away from the spray, with a smirk that seemed permanent her cranium tilted to the left "You missed me." It was at that moment a scent caught her attention and she paused to sniff at the sands. Her gaze flickered upward to see that he had paused. Walking back to his side she crowded close as he used his frame to help shield her against the chill of the wind.
The thought of winter gave her pause, summer was one thing to survive in on your own with no skills. Winter was a whole other story. She didn't dare ask his assistance, for one he hardly knew her and had no reason to want to offer her aide. Second of all, she really didn't know what to ask or how to ask it, so instead she merely nodded agreeing with him. When the wind died off somewhat she'd back off a half a pace. "Thank you, Blade. Shyly she gave a quick lick to his cheek before trotting off a few paces to sniff at over-turned trash can.
