The sun was clearly visible on this warm spring afternoon. The clouds had slowly disappeared over the morning and the sun had allowed the air to get warmer and warmer. Luckily it was not a humid warm either, it was a nice dry one, around 78 degrees Fahrenheit. There were plenty of birds chirping around from nests in branches, many sitting on eggs and other feeding and caring for their young ones. Mice and other small rodents scampered around the ground and lizards moved about the trees and random stones through town. The large dog paid close attention to each of these things as he walked and allowed them to be what they were as he passed, trying his hardest to not disturb or touch any of them. His tongue rolled heavily from his mouth, the slobber dropping from it and turning the corners of his lips white. He would occasionally then run his large, salmon colored tongue over his black nose to keep it moistened and cause the white to either disappear or spread across his face.
He could not really care less by this point though. He was tired and had been in the sun nearly all day already. His ears pressed firmly back against his head and his tail dangled lifelessly at his rump. Paws dragged themselves across the ground as he stopped under every source of shade he could find for a good ten minutes each time before continuing onward. The hazel eyes were gleaming as the sun rays reflected off of them and at this point, seemed to be the only happy part of the large canine. He was still quite young, just barely a year and a half old, but he was massive. A little larger than most Dogo Argentinos, as that was the majority of his blood. While he did have a tad bit of Boerboel in there somewhere, it did not really show, perhaps being the cause for his slight variations from the norm.
The white canine had short fur, his pink and black spotted skin clearly visible in some spots, especially around the end of his muzzle where it grew very lightly. Other spots that really showed the skin were around old scars and healing wounds. None were really from fighting except for two or so, both in self defense. Bronx, as the dog was now called, did not really enjoy fighting, but instead liked to make friends, but would stick up for himself. He had never been into too big of a fight and planned on keeping it that way until the day he died. As he stopped under the last tree he could see on the old road, he decided to pause a little bit longer than he had before. Bronx was a somewhat quiet dog it sometimes appeared. He was not aggressive or entirely outgoing and that seemed completely odd for any bully looking canine.
His large paws turned over on the hot asphalt, even under the shade, and he kicked a small stone, looking around once more. He really would have liked a place to take a nap at by that point, but knew that if he did not find permanent shade, it would not last very long. Bronx sighed a deep and heavy breath before moving once more. He was sluggish in his movements at this time, tired and thirsty as he moved down the road. It was then that he spotted it. Dark hazel eyes rested on the junkyard, cars everywhere, most old or destroyed. Plenty were piled upon each other and a good amount crushed. The old fence that went around the yard was rusting but held firmly. The gate was held with a single chain that tied to a large pole on the opposite side of it. It was slightly open and he knew that if he rammed his shoulder in hard enough, he could force the gate open far enough for his large body to wobble through.
As he reached the entrance, he paused and realized that perhaps today was his lucky day. Water ran softly down the road from a sprinkler system a way up. Lapping up a refreshing drink, Bronx continued into the yard. He scanned over most of the cars and the piles. From the entrance to the rear end, there were cars everywhere. A small pathway wound around the cars, leading a person throughout the entire junkyard. Broken glass covered the path from cars that had fallen or been moved and some parts also rested here and there. It was not the cleanest place he had ever seen, but it also was not entirely filthy. His ears perked up a bit as he listened to see if he was alone, but gave up after just a few seconds and decided to find his spot to rest. He moved slowly down the entrance part of the path then took a sharp right and hoped he could find a spot that would shield him until he managed to cool down or the sun went away for a bit.
None of the piles were tall enough to supply a sufficient amount of shade it seemed and as he looked and looked Bronx was worried that he would never find the perfect spot. However, he refused to give up and figured he just had not looked in the right spot yet, and he was right. As he rounded another curve and came into a light trot, he found his spot. Three piles stood, one tall enough to face and block the sun directly. The next one over was a bit taller and would block the sun once it moved and the last pile, no doubt, would add in that blocking. They sort of formed a cool little cave area and Bronx walked right into it. The cars around him were mostly little old models, no trucks or cars that had once appeared to have ever even been nice, instead they all looked like shit, which they were.
Figuring no one cared for any of the car any longer either, Bronx reached his head inside the first one with a broken window he could reach. Tugging on the back seat a little, he managed to rip off a cool piece of leather large enough that he would be able to fit his entire body on it. Dragging it into the back corner between all the cars, Bronx circled it, sniffed it, then lied down. He was completely wiped out from a long night of exploring the evening before and decided the junkyard had seemed like the perfect place to sleep. While he would rather be awake and talk to someone that seemed safe and fun, he would do it, Bronx would currently just rest in his place under the cars in their makeshift form of shade. His tail wagged softly as his head rested between his large, muscular forelegs and he let out a deep breath before closing his eyes. Ears perked up fully and would listen for any signs of danger or approaching strangers, but until then he would be taking a nap.

Bella a decent sized pit bull looks around the junkyard. She jumps up a pick up truck and scouts the area. Her caramel eyes wonder. Being a grey dog helps sometimes. She jumps in the bed of the truck wondering what's in there that's worth hiding. The wind shifts and she can smell a male. She shrugs and continues scavenging. She jumps through the open window and lays on the soft leather. The sun beaming through the window she closes her eyes.
