name;; Bronx
pronunciation;; br-awn-x
alias;; Bro, Onx, Bron
age;; One and a Half
gender;; Male
breed;; Dogo Argentino x Boerboel
appearance;;
Bronx looks more like a Dogo Argentino than Boerboel, which is mostly due to the fact that he does not have as much boerboel blood in him. He is completely white from head to tail. Although his bright pink and black spotted skin may be seen in some spots where fur has gone missing or where it grows shorter (i.e. around his nose). He does not really have any scars minus one large one on his left inner thigh, which goes unnoticed for the most part. He looks almost like an American Pit Bull Terrier, minus the fact that he is much, much larger and probably a bit leaner. Bronx has a pure black nose with dark lips and a salmon colored tongue. His teeth are mostly white and all there as of this point in time. He is not fully matured and is still young and growing.
Starting from his head, Bronx has a massive skull. His broad head is slightly domed and his muzzle is slightly higher at the nose than the stop. His muzzle is about the same length as his skull and he has strong jowls and with teeth that meet in a scissor bite. His eyes are a hazel color and rimmed in black, rather than pink like some dogs'. His ears were cropped when he was a puppy to stand erect on his head and unless he is relaxing, they do so. During the time he is relaxing, Bronx's ears rest backwards on his head. There is a lot of extra skin around his neck, which was bred into his breeds for protection, in case he was to ever be bitten around that sensitive area in a fight.
He has a deep chest with broad shoulders that greatly show off his muscles. Bronx is a very muscular dog, even as a stray and he does not usually have a hard time finding food, making growth for the young dog easy. His muscles are easy to spot under his short coat, even when he is not moving around and he appears to be slightly more muscular than perhaps he should be. He has powerful fore and hind legs and a body that is slightly longer than it is tall. He stands at a good 29 inches, making him slightly larger than most Dogo Argentinos. He has no dew claws and black paw pads with large feet and long black claws.
Bronx has a thick tail that hangs straight to his hocks. The tip curls out slightly at the end and never is lifted any higher than above his hocks unless it is wagging. Finally, he weighs a good 98 pounds and it is very possible he may weigh more as he continues to grow.[ 4|6|1 ]
personality;;
Bronx may look like he is a mean and uncaring dog, but really he is not. While at first he may not appear to be the most cheerful and does give off that sort of feeling that he is not friendly, he really is not. Bronx does not just go up to other dogs that he has not already met and try to be their friends, but if another dog comes up to him he generally will not blow them off and act like a jerk. He may not seem like the kindest of creatures especially since he does not like to start conversations or continue them until he is sure he really likes someone. Bronx likes to stick to the people he knows and keep away from strangers, but he does try to be nice and become friends with dogs that really want to meet him.
He enjoys a good fight, but never will antagonize one unless he feels threatened or like someone is stepping in on something he wants or feels is his. For example, if he has set up camp somewhere and a dog randomly decides it wants to live there, Bronx will fight for it. He may seem a little snappy sometimes, but it is usually only directed toward males. He has a soft spot for females and puppies and once he feels it is his obligation to protect someone, he will not stop protecting them until he dies or they directly demand that he no longer looks after them and that he leaves them alone.
Bronx does not like to tell secrets, but fells that everyone needs to know the truth and is extremely honest. If he ever feels that someone is being kept from part of the truth, he will go and tell them the entire truth, even if other dogs think it is best not to. He does not like to keep things from others, but he would never tell one of his close friends' secrets. Bronx loves to share stories and is the type of dog who will sit around and listen to an older dog tell stories of the past all day long. He loves to share stories and really enjoys sitting around telling stories with other dogs.
He is also the type of dog that is really optimistic. Bronx always sees the glass as half full and tries to share his optimism with others. He enjoys having a smile on his face and enjoys keeping others in a good mood, even if he does not feel too well himself. Bronx tries to enjoy himself constantly and while he does not get along the best with other male dogs, he will attempt to on most occasions. However, Bronx is also the type of dog to make easy rivalries with other dogs and once he has established a rivalry, he finds great joy in showing up his rivals.
Bronx is not really a bad dog, but does not really care about males as much as he does for females and only cares for those he is actually close to. However, he is protective of nearly any dog and would always help another creature in danger. He does not like dogs that spend their lives trying to fight each other and one up each other. Instead he likes things being simple and would rather spend his days sleeping and nights adventuring. Bronx is a fun loving guy and really enjoys the company of others. Finally, Bronx likes to give off the appearance that he is a lot tougher than he really is.[ 5|8|1 ]
history;;
Bronx was born in a small town in Northern Nevada. He grew up around the constant excitement of rodeos and dealing with cattle and horses. He lived with his parents and three siblings for about three months before their owners finally decided to sell the puppies for a profit. Since Bronx and his siblings looked like they were pure Dogo Argentinos, the puppies were sold for a good, high price. Bronx went from his easy going rodeo life to living with a punk of a teenager, having been an 18th birthday gift. His ears were cropped immediately after he was bought and he was quickly renamed Bronx. Of course, he was too young to really care about these things, he just wanted to have fun.
Around the age of 11 months, Bronx and his owner moved from Nevada. They ended up in a new place where Bronx's owner wished to go to college. However, as time passed, it was quickly discovered that the boy could not handle balancing both school and the puppy he had. So Bronx ended up in the pound. It was terrible and he had to deal with plenty of mean dogs and just a few other puppies. It was not long before he realized something either, dogs that looked nicer than he did got adopted faster, and generally dogs that did look like him went to homes were the owners wanted the canine to be hostile.
Bronx did not wish to stay in the pound very long and found his escape one day when he was taken out to the dog run. He discovered that on most days, he was left by himself in the run with one or two other dogs, and that was when he decided he no longer wanted to stay there. He started to dig around the gate before he discovered one day that the gate had never been properly shut. Pushing on it slightly then pulling it gently with his paw, he opened it just enough to slip through and take off down the road. Bronx then worried for a long time that he was going to be captured and taken back to the pound, however it has yet to actually happen.
Bronx wandered away from the pound, deciding from that point on that he hated all humans, boy or girl, young or old. He refused to ever try and find a home again for fear of being abandoned once more. Instead he decided to stick to the life of a stray instead. As he continued to grow, Bronx learned that with the way he looked and the fact he was much bigger than other dogs, he could easily get whatever he wanted. He also realized that by making friends, one day he could get a band of dogs together and appear even tougher to other dogs, making it so that dogs would never want to mess with him and then he would never really have to worry about fights or ever being caught ever again. For now though, Bronx wanders on his own.[ 5|1|4 ]
