This was a mistake, a big massive enormous mistake and it was too late to take it all back and turn the other way. Abra was moving through the street with his body hunched and his tail tucked between his legs, his thick fur soaked in several places from where a man had turned a hose on him after his child had gone running into the house screaming "Wolf! Daddy look at the wolf!". Abra hadn't meant to be seen, he'd meant to be out of the neighborhood before anyone woke up. But he'd gotten lost.
The male quickly found a small alleyway to squeeze himself into, trembling slightly. He hadn't expected the icy water to hit him and it had given him quite a fright. It wasn't long after the sun had risen, Abra was sure that he had gotten that family up earlier than most people.
He wasn't sure where he would go now, he felt a little like he was stuck there. He couldn't go running down the street again for fear that someone else might spot him and something even worse would happen. Maybe he should just hide away in the alley until the moon was highest in the sky and then he would scamper his way back into the forest where he was safe. Not that he knew how to get back there, he wasn't sure where exactly he was.
Abra moved deeper into the alleyway, his body relaxing as he felt the comfort of emptiness surround him. There was no one else there, no threats or anything for him to worry about. That left him to think only of his empty stomach for now, he wouldn't be able to hunt and feed himself until he got back to familiar ground.
He sat down, his tail curling around his paws slightly as he twisted his body to lick the wet patches on his coat, tryiing to get it a little drier.

Careful paws hesitant and weary tapped out a steady quick tempo against the hard concrete that made up the sidewalk. A stolen half a giant breakfast burrito clenched in alabaster jaws. One midnight eye cast back towards the chaos she'd created. It had been an accident, really. The untouched burro had been sitting on a plated picnic table on someones open back patio. The scent had drawn the usually cautious canine around the white house to find the guarded food with no human in sight. Leaping on top the table she'd begun to feast with an unchecked enthusiasm. It was the woman's screech that had her automatically snatching up the remaining half and racing away as swiftly as possible.
Now she ran searching for a place to finish her stolen meal, at least that was until a strangely familiar scent assaulted her senses. A glance to the ground had her following footprints whose moisture was quickly being eaten up, until there was nothing left but scent to guide her towards a small alley where a familiar face coward. The half eaten burrito fall from her jaws as that cranium twisted faintly. "A-abr-ra-a-c-c-cad-d-d....?" That quiet timid voice fell silent as she butchered the name of the wolf she'd met some time ago in the woods. Did he remember her? Would he even want to? The smooth white plum was held tightly against her hind legs, hear ears perked though that head drooped, half expecting the creature to lunge at her as everyone else always did.
One thing that puzzled her was his icy drenched pelt, why was he soaking wet? Silently she took in the expression crossing the hybrid's visage. He looked beyond miserable, much like she'd been the day he'd stumbled across her out in the wooded lands.

The wolf hybrid continued to try and get himself drier but it wasn't really working and just as he was about to stop trying a voice broke through the silence and made him jump to his feet defensively, his thick fur bristling before he realized that he recognized the quiet voice that had spoken his name partially.
He shook himself to rid his body of the tension that had suddenly filled it in the short moment of fright that had overtaken him and once relaxed again he offered her a sheepish grin.
"You scared me.."
He admitted in an ashamedly playful tone, he was supposed to be good at being aware of his surroundings and not being taken by surprise but apparently he wasn't.. Or she had just been very quiet.
His tail gave a friendly happy wag as he moved closer to her to touch his nose to hers briefly in a friendly hello.
"I guess I should be grateful to be given a fright by someone so pretty rather than something more sinister."
He commented cheerfully. Having someone there made the misery he had felt suddenly evaporate into thin air, he couldn't appear miserable when there was someone to cheer up and be friendly to. He could remember meeting her in the woods and had hoped to see her again, making him even more glad that she had found him here. Maybe she could help him get out back into the country where he was safe? He'd have to find out later, but for now he was perfectly happy to just talk to her for a bit and be amiable.

Movement from the wolf hybrid was instantaneous upon the first syllable she managed to utter. The bristling of his fur, eyes would widen and that frame would cringe downward tail coiled tightly between her legs as she slinked backward a step or two in fright. A low apologetic whine lay locked within the confines of that throat, frozen with terror. Would he attack her now? She had thought they were at least friendly but perhaps as always she was mistaken? After all who'd really want to be a friend of such a pathetic creature as she? Keisha had vanished only days after she'd met the spunky little Chihuahua, which had broken her already shattered spirit even more. She'd thought they too were friends. After all she'd helped the snow white border collie clean up and gain some lost confidence. But it wasn't meant to be she supposed. Nothing ever was. And here was a prime example.
At least that was the thoughts fluttering through her panicked mind when his voice and the touch of his blacken nose against hers jerked her from her fright. Warily she stared up at the larger canine with an expression of dumbfounded shock. He wasn't angry? A slow hesitantly shy smile stretched across her muzzle even as her head ducked away with embarrassed. Did he just call her pretty? Swallowing she took a deep breath which brought with it the reminder of her half eaten meal. It was manners and the need to distract herself that had her carefully easing forward slightly to nudge the burro of eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes toward him. "A-a-ar-e y-y-ou-u h-hun-g-g-gry-y-y, A-a-ab-r-r-ra-a?" It was a silly question really, but it had been the only thing she'd been able to think of on such short notice.
You see Qannik had developed a little crush on the half breed when they'd last met. She hadn't expected to ever see him again so hadn't bothered to squish the feelings in their budding state. Instead she'd clung to the kindness he'd once shown her, and even believed she might be half in love with him. But that'd all been okay, easy to deal with when he was off in a whole other world. But now he was here. standing in front of her prone form and she was at a loss for what to do.

The hybrid had barely noticed how much he had scared the white border collie, his mind having taken up most of his attention with his own fright he'd gotten. But as he spoke he saw her shy smile and that she ducked her head and he gave another wag of his thick tail in happiness. He watched as she lowered her head to nudge some good his way and he noticed for the first time the smell lingering in his nose that made his stomach rumble a little louder to remind him it needed filling and he licked his lips as his golden hued eyes rested on the half finished meal. He was barely aware of her question but he heard her and his hungry mind took her question as an invitation to finish the food off and he couldn't stop himself from lowering his head and quickly snatched the food between his jaws, ears pulled back as his fur bristled slightly. He had a tendency to get defensive over his food, but it only came out of survival instinct.
He seemed indecisive for a moment as he stood with the food between his jaws but then turned away from her, so his back was to her, before quickly consuming the meal rather quickly, nearly swallowing it whole before he turned around again, his nose sniffing the place where it had been to see if there was more, disappointment filtering through him when he found nothing but concrete. The sudden realization of his behavior and that Qannik was there suddenly hit him and he jumped slightly again, raising his head to look at her almost in surprise. He wasn't sure whether apologizing would be appropriate or not because it couldn't have been helped but he felt somewhat ashamed of the way he'd acted. She hadn't exactly said he could have the food, just asked if he was hungry.
A sheepish half grin came to his face though, now finding his own behavior and over-thinking of the situation amusing. He slowly moved closer to her, reaching out towards her tentatively with his nose, not wanting her to feel even the slightest bit threatened by him. He would return the favor and give her half his meal next time he hunted if he could manage to catch something sizable, and if she were there to share it with him. He hoped she would be. He quite liked having her company, even though she was shy and fearful she seemed to realize that he meant her no harm. Not many others gave him the chance to show that he was friendly just as they were. Abra realized that he'd been quiet in his thoughtfulness, something that wasn't usual for him to be and it surprised him as well. What was it about her that made him go quiet and thoughtful? It was a little strange but he found it interesting none-the-less.
"I'm glad you found me." He commented suddenly, his tone cheerful and friendly as he lowered his butt onto the concrete and sat down, curling his tail around his legs out of habit as he kept his eyes focused on her feminine form in front of him. "I was hoping to see you." He added. He looked past her for a few moments out of the alleyway and towards the road where life was beginning to stir and people were waking and getting on with their days, going to work, going for a morning run, all those sorts of humanly things that the hybrid did not understand or know anything of. He looked back to his friend, his head cocked to the side in curious wonderment. "How can you stay in this place? So near the humans.. They're not very welcoming." He commented, his tone just curious, he wanted to learn more about this part of the world, the part where humans ruled things instead of it being survival of the fittest and predators controlled the way things were. Or maybe he just wasn't seeing things the right way because he didn't understand them, but he wanted to.
