Long legs held up the thin muscular body of the greyhound as it jumped up onto a log, balancing quite easily, its tail giving a slight wag as it headed towards the water that would undoubtedly be freezing cold.
No.. Don't even think about it Adonis.
Why not? You scared?
Adonis' voice was malevolent inside of their head as he treaded ever closer to the water, jumping off the log to move across the earth confidently, his strides powerful and long as he walked. He had a smug grin on his face, eyes watching the water with a sinister desire glowing in their depths. Oh how tempting the swift flowing water looked to him at that very moment, how easy it would be to jump in and end their miserable excuse for a life.
A paw was lifted in readiness to make that jump, muscles tensing to lift the other front paw before he would make the effort of propelling himself forwards and up to plunge into the cold icy water to his, hopeful, death.
But something happened and the greyhounds tail was pulled between his legs as he scrambled away from the water's edge, body trembling almost violently as panic filled his eyes and relief flooded over his features. Making quick little steps as he hurried away from the water towards the log that they had balanced on previously, cowering against it and staring at the water fearfully.
Don't do that!
Oh come on, you want to die just as much as me.
No I don't!
Stop living in your little world of denial Biggles! Our life is a waste of time. You can't pretend that you're content with this forever, one day you'll let me kill us. You'll see.
The threat of death made the greyhound tremble even more violently as he pressed his body against the log, Biggles was stubbornly keeping control of their body, keeping Adonis at bay in their mind so that he couldn't do anything to hurt them like he always did or tried to do. Biggles didn't want that to happen, he wanted to stay alive even if Adonis did make it a miserable existence for the two of them most of the time. He could still try to be happy despite their situation.

 Welcome to the Planet Being near the city made me anxious, so I avoided it at all costs, sticking to the low roads, the sparsely populated wild places where I new my safety was assured. I walked along the lake shore, water occasionally lapping at my lightly-colored cat paws. Occasionally i had to go around a rock, leap over a fallen log. It was no worry for me, to have to comply with the obstacles set before me like fences.
Fences could easily br broken if you knew ehat you were doing. I was confident, in a way that made me feel at ease, that those metaphorical fences stood no chance against me. My rolling gait, my perked ears, and my warm brown eyes exuded that feeling of confident safety.
My peace, my ease, my confidence was unchallenged by my surroundings. The lake water could not drown me unless I wanted it to. The breeze would not make me shiver unless I acknowledged its forlorn and lonely existance. away from the shadowy prison that is the city, I was the breeze-master. Out here, I had no boundaries.
That peaceful, floating feeling was interupted as something large and swift scuttled into and past my line of sight. I veered off from the meandering path I'd been on to follow it. now i was curious, and being who I am, who I will always be...i just had to investigate. maybe I could restart my mis-matched pack here, with the canine I now followed.
Still at ease, I lifted the front half of my body over the log, allowing my face to peer casually at the dog before me.
"You alright?" I asked, gently. This dog was obviously scared of something. "Need a helping paw, a shoulder to cry on?" I continued, confusion wrinkling my ginger brow. I probed again. "You okay, kid? Was it me that scared you? somebody hurt you bad enough that you're seeking this log for protection? there's nothing out here that can hurt you, you know."
I stayed in my postion, propped up and curled over that log. i let my tail wag slowly, allowed the creases in my forehead to melt away. "C'mon...you can talk to me...I don't bite."

Hearing a voice suddenly that wasn't that of Adonis made Biggle jump in fright before he stood on his feet a few paces from the dog, quivering slightly.
Shit..
What?
Dog.
Oh, let me talk to him!
Biggles could barely keep up with what the male dog was saying as he tried to fend of the now excited Adonis who wanted to have control of their body to have a little fun with the stranger. He wouldn't allow him though.
No.. you'll scare him off. He seems nice.
Biggles told Adonis firmly before he let his eyes rest on the stranger in front of him, just trying to listen a little more closely and to pay attention, noticing his wagging tail and making an attempt to draw his own tail from between his legs though it failed somewhat and his tail stayed where it was though he did stop trembling so much.
He had said that there was nothing here that could hurt him but Biggles couldn't agree with that, a slight friendly smile coming to his face though.
"Oh, there is.. You just can't see it."
He told him, his tone weary though attempting to be amiable as well as he sat down. He didn't fear this dog, he seemed harmless.
What's there? What can't he see?
Biggles ignored Adonis who was becoming a little agitated at not knowing what exactly was going on, not being able to see or hear anything of the outside world because he was pushed to the side to make room for Biggles to control their shared body. Adonis could do nothing but act as that little voice in the back of Biggles' head that told him 'do it, you know you want to'.. Adonis would never make a very good conscience or voice of reason.
"M'names Biggles."
He commented in a more cheerful tone now, the imminent thread of Adonis murdering him now having settled to allow the usual tranquility of the world to relax him despite Adonis' sinisterness always being present within him and with him. He had enough strength to keep Adonis at bay for now and hold onto the seat of power to converse with this stranger and to possibly make a friend even for a few minutes before Adonis jumped into the way to ruin things as he always did.
Biggles never had any chance of actually being in a relationship of any kind with another dog, be it romantic, friendly or even that they were enemies. He was only the one that had the chance of meeting each possible prospect first hand before Adonis would either make or break them with his evil nature. Though Adonis was in denial that he was evil, he said that he was merely pissed off at the world and everything in it because he was stuck with the miserable excuse for a dog that was, in fact, Biggles.
