General Info
name: Surrender
pronounciation: sor - rend - ah
alias: Suri, Ren
age: 1 year
gender: Male
breed: Border Collie
Appearance
Optics: Suri's eyes are stunning, they are icey blue in colour and are a perfect oval shape. The one thing you might notice about his lusterous eyes, is that they dont seem to have that same shine about them as other dogs eyes, the reason for this is that Suri is completely blind.
Sniffer & Maw: His nose is round, shiny and slate in colour. His muzzle is of right length for his breed, his jaws are strong and all his ivories align correctly.
Auds: His ears are medium in length and set reasonably well apart, they are carried erect. His hearing is highly sensitive, more so than most other dogs, this makes up for his lack of sight.
Apex: His head is quite broad with an unpronounced but moderate stop, though its quite lean and elegant looking.
Collar & Shoulders: His shoulders are set well back and very muscular, his neck is of good length and is strong, widening at the base where it meets the shoulders.
Frame: His body is slightly longer than his height to his withers, he is well proportioned with well toned muscles.
Appendages: His fore legs are long and straight when seen from the front, but appear slightly sloping when seen from the side. His hind legs are well muscled at the hindquarters, his stifles are well turned and let down to his hocks.
Paws: Both front and hind paws are oval shaped with his toes arched and close together. As he has had no human contact in his life he still has all his dewclaws.
Banner: His tail is quite low set, reaching down to his hocks with an upward swirl towards the end. It only raises when he is excited, but apart from that its held casually.
Furs: His colour is whats known as Blue Merle, which is becomming increasingly common within his breed, his base coat is white in colour and particulary thick and weather resistant. The white on his body is broken nicely with the merle colouring. His coat is of medium length, its silky, soft and fairly sleek looking, the hair on his face, ears and front legs are short and sleek also.
Me, Myself and I
personality: Being blind doesnt stop this pup, he is hyper and always on the go, being blind has only made him more daring. He will go out of his way to put his remaining senses to the test, even if it means putting himself in a life or death situation. He doesnt see being blind as a disadvantage, but more of an opportunity to work on his street skills. He can be a little jumpy around dogs he doesnt know, but he trusts easily and makes a good friend. If he doesnt like someone he backchats them and will act all tough, like he doesnt care, but this pupper's bark is alot worse than his bite. Despite not being able to see he does extremely well at staying on all four paws and it annoys him if another feels sorry for him or tries to help with just for the fact he is blind. Underneath all his bad ass and rebelious ways, Surrender is just a hyper active pup who needs a strong paw to guide him through life rather than the streets.
history: Surrender hasnt always been blind, when he first opened his eyes the world was as normal to him than in the eyes of every other dog. Over the next few weeks of his life his eye sight deteriorated quickly, becoming fuzzy and out of focus, and before long the world became empty blackness. Being of such a young age, he learnt quickly about the streets and how to work them to his advantage, his sense of hearing becoming more sensitive as it adapted to compensate for his blackened vision.
Surrender, like alot of stray dogs, was born on the streets, though he left his mothers protection at a very very young age, the world was to exciting to wait for, all the things he couldnt wait to try, his little curious, rebelious mind working over time as he planned at plotted his way of tackling the world blind. His plan is simple, with pure determination he wants to prove to the world that anything can be done, even when you're blind, that its not a disadvantage having no sight, a blind dog is just as capable at life than one who can see.
