A poor smile spread on her tan lips at Flank's outburst, seeing the truth in his sayings. But honestly, dying wasn't one of her big concerns. If she died, the world wouldn't exactly be deprived of something exceptional. She was just the ordinary stray in an ordinary town in and ordinary world.
"What you say is true, but the world wouldn't be losing anything if I died. I'm just another stray in an ordinary town." she explained to him. She wanted to make him see her point of view on death. She watched him scratch his ear, and the instant reaction it had been told her it was a nervous habit.
"It's okay." the words weaved out of her throat, eyes softening at his words.

I laid down, setting my head on my paws gently. For a long time, there was a silence, but it wasn't tense or awkward. It was actually somewhat calming, allowing me to run my thoughts out in my head. Watching her, I tilted my head a bit.
"So," I began as casually as I could. "Is Scotland nice? I've heard of it, but never actually got the chance to be there."
And then I pricked my ears forward to hear her musical voice respond. It didn't matter what she said. She could have told me the Scotland was full of dogs like Rip, Gnash, and Spike, the three larger dogs I'd grown up with, and it would have been pleasant to hear from her. I'd never met another dog with such a voice.

The lean hindquarters came in contact lightly with the earth, body kept erect by the two front pillars and sapphire orbs wandering to the pile of junk that littered the back of the restaurant, lost in the meanders of her own mind. Sometimes, her own mind seemed like a labyrinth, but luckily, she always could find her way out. Unlike some, she knew herself very well, respecting her limits and her capacities. Flank had laid down on the cement, a calming silence hanging in the afternoon air. Geni listened to the daily life of the city, hearing the pet dogs bark and the birds chirp happily in the branches of the sparse trees. The volume these tiny creatures could come up with never missed to impress the female, and a very small smile crept it's way onto the tan lips. A warm breeze ruffled her feathered ears and tail, bringing a new set of scents to the ebony nostrils. The suffocating smell of oil, gas and cars, metal, wood, dirt and all sorts of other unnatural scents. Her flopped-over ears swiveled toward Flank as he spoke, asking her about Scotland. "Scotland. . . It's a very wild country. In the North, there are mountains that are covered in snow in the winter. It's pretty cold up there, but the further you go south, it's more like green hills and steppe-like lanscapes. It's pretty much like any other country, it's got towns and villages. It's got a lot of old buildings since it's an old country." she answered, her melodious voice tinted with Scotland's accent. Words: 275 Muse: 8/10 Notes: Better this time. . . Status: Tagged Flank!
