name: sketches
pronounciation: if you cannot pronounce that, you have some issues, my friend.
alias: diana
age: one point five
gender: babe
breed: rough collie
appearance:
Sketches is the typical rough collie. She is a medium sized herding creature, with a slightly square build. Her skull is long and narrowed, making her look unmistakably feminine. Her ears are larger than most others, almost always perky. Her body is covered in thick golden fur. She could be compared to Lassie, with her white underbelly, chest, and a bit running in a stripe down her face. Sometimes her fur becomes so long it drags on the soil and becomes knotted up. She then tears the knots off of her body using thorns and jaggers. Her eyes are a deep, chocolate brown. They're persistant and odd looking, because the brown is so deep and dark you can barely distinguish the pupil from the iris color. Her tail is probably her most distinguishing feature. It's much fuller than the rest of her body, with fur that is thick and almost always knotted up. She always manages to get it caught when she needs to escape a situation, and it takes the longest to get loose. One of her trademarks is her right front paw, which is twisted, like it was broken and did not heal right.
personality:
Sketches has a most interesting personality. She may be described as hot-headed and rude, with a fiery, snappy tongue that normally always gets her into trouble. She can fire off words quicker than a machine gun can fire bullets, and she's darn good at it, too. Her mouth is almost always moving, and she has trouble shutting it up. She grew up with having to defend herself with words - some people shut her out because of her rather petite size, and when she is not big enough to fight back physically, she attacks the other mentally. It's her only form of defense, but if one manages to break through it, she has no fall-back plan. She absolutely hates to be wrong, and if she is proven so, she becomes quiet and irritable, absolutely refusing the fact that she may not have been correct. But when you manage to catch her in a good mood, or if you create it yourself, she's quite pleasant to be around. Her personality is quiet and thoughtful at these times, the polar opposite of her normal attitude. She likes to sit and become very sentimental during these moments, but it almost always wears away quickly.
history:
Sketches was never the street dog she is today. She was borne unto a kind family with three small triplets. She was bought from a breeder, and was immediately welcomed into the family with open arms. She loved her life with the Nolans. They fed her, kept her coat clean, played with her, and took her on long, joyous walks. But one day, while she was playing with one of the children, the child clambered up onto a chair. Worried for him, she ran over to investigate the situation, and he launched himself off of the chair and landed straight on her back. She spooked, yelping and crying in distress as he rode on her like a pony, clearly too heavy for her - but her fright kept her moving. She sped around the room, eventually shooting under the same chair the child jumped from. The triplet whacked his head and knocked his front tooth out on the chair, and he fell to the ground, bloody and sobbing. The Nolan adults rushed in immediately, and upon seeing the damage, assumed Sketches had bitten the boy. She was hit hard and picked up by the husband and tossed out the window. She'd landed ungraciously in the snow, managing to break her right front paw. She sat outside the house whimpering for three days, only to be ignored by the family. Finally, when she could bear to walk on the paw, she hobbled away onto the streets. From that moment on, she hated humans, becoming so wild and timid she would dart and hide in the shadows when any human came near. Eventually, she got comfortable enough to whizz by them and not have to hide, but she was still extremely uncomfortable. From that moment on, she became Sketches, truly.
