name: Skeptic
pronounciation: Skep-tick
alias: Skep .
age: Two.
gender: Fae.
breed: Border Collie.
appearance: Skeptic's coat is black & white. Black mostly dominates her back, with white on her belly. On her head, her ear and eye area are black, with a stripe of white going down her muzzle. White shows on her stomach, chest, and paws, with a tip of it on her otherwise black tail. Her coat is about medium-length. Skeptic's eyes are probably the most attractive part of her body. One's a piercing, crystal blue with darker flecks of navy and the other is a mocha brown.
personality:Skeptic is intelligent; she knows how to get out of tough situations and doesn't lack common sense. Unlike most dogs that go around trying to start fights, she just keeps to herself and goes on her way, hoping they leave her alone. However, if she's provoked, she will swagger with much bravado and mouth off. However, it's easy to see through it, as she was always a horrible actress. Her feelings are easily hurt, a fault that she's very embarassed about, one reason for the bravado she sometimes has. She's also energetic, always facing a new day full of energy ready to burn off. She loves to play games, even if it is just a one-man thing. She usually ends up bothering the canines around her, but that never stopped her. Her feelings may be easily hurt, but it's harder to crush her spirit. Usually a small pep talk gets her back in a better mood, and she forgets all about it. Skeptic is very big on pleasing other canines around her; she was never big on humans, but canines she'll go after and try to please, in any attempt to gain friends. She sometimes comes off as pushy and clingy, but she just dubs herself 'helpful'. Despite those tendencies, she has a short fuse. She doesn't put up with whiny or annoying canines; she's quick to put them in their place and take her leave. She's not one to give out snide remarks like candy, because she doesn't like to hurt anyone's feelings. She's not too fond of puppies; she finds them too yappy and clingy (though that's how some canines describe her), and she never had much of a 'motherly instinct'.
history:Skeptic was born in a litter of six; four of her siblings died within days of her mother's birth, however. It was right in the dead of winter, and her mother couldn't shelter them all, so Skeptic and a brother - Barry, she had called him, - were the only ones left. Her mother, naturally, was devastated about the loss of four of her pups. Skeptic couldn't blame her, naturally. But, what Skeptic's mother did next was something Skeptic could hold against her; their mother took off seven weeks after they were born, leaving them in an slightly remote location, winter beginning to thaw a bit, spring in the air. Skeptic, however, wasn't looking forward to spring; Barry was the runt of the litter, and Skeptic was intent on getting him to live. They were capable of getting their own food, but Barry was weak enough, and Skeptic wasn't sure of where to hunt for food, so they starved. She failed, but days after he died, a wandering canine came by the area and heard Skeptic's hungry wails. Thus, Skeptic had a new 'mommy'. The canine who took Skeptic in was of Golden Retriever breed, and was everything a mother should be to her pups. Skeptic and Reina, as she became known, traveled around and ended up here, though Reina took off somewhere else, finding Skeptic very much capable of taking care of herself now. And she was; she'd known Reina for about four years, and as sad she was to see her go, she was also slightly glad.
